008 // PARKER

This concept from Parker is still one of, if not my favorite I’ve ever done. So much to experiment with and so many amazing photos came from this day

Portraits of artists and surroundings made during HAIKU Artist Retreat at Villa Bartolomae, in Italy.

Feeling genuinely thankful that life leads me to opportunities like these, of getting to know beautiful and talented artists from all over the world. Joining @hai_____ku in Italy for the second time now reminded me how much the surroundings - people, space, energy - affect my perspective and, ultimately, my work. I wrote a bunch of scenes that I feel very excited about, for a project I’ve been putting off for a long time, and I’ve made some of my favorite pictures I’ve ever done. That week felt special for this journey I’ve found myself on.

a few months back I invited a group of artists to Italy together with @hai_____ku , and last week we finally got to meet and immerse ourselves in beautiful Villa Bartolomea. something quite magical happens when you surround yourself with beings made of curiosity and openness. this week is carved into my heart.

thank you @mateuszota, @its.anetoo, @denis.lissak and @marcusmoeldrup for trusting me, helping me facilitate, being the biggest supporters and bestest of fwiends <‘3

Custom cat credenza

This unique lavatory was commissioned for 2 cats.

Featuring 2 soft close sliding drawers for the cat litter boxes to sit within, an entrance arched tunnel, poly wall lined interiors for easy cleanup, a side storage compartment with an antique muffin tin tray, ventilation on the top, a removable cat litter catch tray as the cats exit, as well as a cat scratch post on the side.

The front facade features alternating maple slats creating a brutalist “cat eye” form while the pupil acts as the entrance and exit of the structure.

Thank you to my clients (the cats) as well as @davidttimm for allowing me to create such a unique piece for their home. Thank you to @twincitiesmaker for providing space and tools for the realization of this project.

Samsara Smoker

Through repeated burning, wood sheds its surface and reveals the grain beneath. A record shaped by long winters, open summers, and the quiet passing of seasons. The piece carries imperfections, individuality, a memory of place and time. Each piece is handcrafted from sustainably and locally sourced ash wood, reclaimed from fallen trees throughout Hennepin County.

When using this object, consider what has come before and how those layers continue to shape who you are. It invites awareness of the cycles that define a life, subtle or profound, ongoing and unfinished.
