RoDrift Final 2026 – Bucharest | Driver Spotlight: Gabi Imre Jr. 🇷🇴

A national champion at not even 18. Four consecutive seasons in the Pro top three. A winner again in Bucharest. A driver who keeps delivering, whatever the venue, machinery or competition.

Gabi Imre Jr. has established himself as one of the standout young talents in Romanian drifting. At just 17 years and 11 months, he became the youngest national Pro drift champion in Romanian history at the time, securing the 2024 title after an impressive season. And his success was far from a one-off.

After finishing third in the 2023 Pro standings, Gabi claimed the national championship in 2024, followed by consecutive runner-up finishes in 2025 and 2026. His ability to remain among the front-runners season after season speaks to his consistency, development and experience in one of the most competitive classes in Romanian drifting.

Throughout his earlier seasons, Gabi competed with BMW machinery that evolved alongside his progression through the sport. His BMW E30 was the car he drove when he secured the 2024 Pro title at Piața Constituției, having topped qualifying before a gearbox failure ended his battle for a place in the Top 8.

For 2026, Gabi stepped into a new build developed with the support of Coasta de Est. At first glance, it resembles a BMW M2 F87, but underneath the aggressive bodywork sits a BMW E46-based chassis fitted with an M2-inspired body kit.

Under the bonnet is a 4.4-litre BMW M62B44 V8, now turbocharged and rated at 720 BHP. It is a substantial step forward in the evolution of his competition machinery, combining a very different look with the power needed to compete at the highest level of Romanian and European drifting.

Piața Constituției has become an important chapter in Gabi's career. After securing his first Pro crown in 2024, he returned to Bucharest in 2026 with the new project and delivered another memorable performance.

At this year's RoDrift Final Event of the Season, at the same Piața Constituției, he fought his way through the battles, defeating Edi Niță, Cătălin Trifan and Andrei Cristea before beating Claudiu Adam in the final to take the event victory in fro
