2026 Pasadena Showcase House Featured in Modern Luxury Interiors California.

Nine standout rooms are featured in “Past Perfect,” this month’s Modern Luxury Interiors California, with @petermarinoarchitect gracing the cover.

Editor-in-Chief Laura Eckstein Jones explores how the designers reimagined a century-old Arts and Crafts home for the present, finding distinct ways to engage with its history while giving each room a contemporary point of view.

From the Art Deco-inflected Midnight Garden Room by @houseofpontovi and the contemporary take on the Entertainment Room by @studiojoshua.la to the vintage textile-filled Modern Bohemian Bedroom by @ben.nichols.workshop , the Arcadian Sanctuary by @amorphous_studio and @jameshernandezinteriordesign ‘s Minkwood Library, conceived as a playful retreat for the home’s art-and-travel loving resident, rooms brought a distinctly modern sensibility to the historic Baldwin Oaks Estate.

Thank you to @lauraecksteinjones for the beautiful feature in Modern Luxury Interiors California. See link in bio for the full feature.

Noelle Gex Djokovich of @gexdesigns sought the sun for her mudroom design.

The Ré Flush Mount by Suzanne Kasler is both a sculptural focal point and an eclectic, winking nod to the outdoors. Elsewhere, Djokovich chose the Halifax 28" Cordless Pierced Ceramic Table Lamp by Ralph Lauren to offer light without the clutter of cords..

“We are big fans of thoughtful lighting touches,” she says. “The Ralph Lauren lamp gave the room not only a soft glow, but also a decorative element with its ceramic base.”

Good lighting should be as functional as it is beautiful. Adjustable fixtures bring added flexibility and function to a space, directing light exactly where it’s needed as the room evolves. Read more about our guide to adjustable lighting for everyday living with the link in bio.

Can’t believe that summer is over and Labor Day is here! For us designers it’s a mad dash to the holidays and finishing all the projects that are lined up to be completed by Thanksgiving and Christmas. Meanwhile, I haven’t posted much lately and been meaning to share the video of the last @pasadenashowcasehouse that wrapped up in May. We were honored to be selected to design the living room and we truly couldn’t have done it without the help of our wonderful partners which I’m listing on my next post but are all tagged here 💜#luxurydesign #interiors #theartofroomdesign #lacanadainteriordesigner #casualchic #livingroomstyle

Le Petite En Suite by Rhonda Angell Interior Design was a masterclass in quiet luxury. ✨

Every detail was thoughtfully considered—from the soft, organic palette to the beautifully layered textures and timeless finishes—creating a bathroom that feels both elegant and deeply restorative.

A space that reminds us great design isn't about size—it's about how a room makes you feel.
