This film would not exist without the dedication of a fearless, intrepid group of filmmakers who came together to make something magical.

They braved long days, impossible schedules, last-minute pivots, and every strange little challenge filmmaking could throw at us and still brought their artistry, ingenuity, and heart to the work each day.

So, in their honor and in an attempt to give them their very well-earned flowers here are a few of my favorite behind-the-scenes moments. They don’t capture even a tenth of what it felt like to make this film together, but they offer a glimpse.

I told the cast and crew my tears would probably come a few days after we fully wrapped after the returns were done and we’d cleared out of basecamp. Well… I didn’t even last six hours after the final martini shot was called. So y’all will have to call me a liar on this one. Thank you, all of you. For your time, your sweat, your energy. For the love you poured into this film and into me. You helped make a dream real.

You built something rare: a story full of love, laughter, and Black people doing magic.

Forget Me Not has wrapped (most) of principal photography. On to post. 🌙✨
