My Calico Quilt, Cross-Stitched by Acts of Kindness: Emily S. Ryan. Emily S. Ryan is a Portland-based friend whose kindness, wit, and generosity have left an immeasurable mark on my life. We first met 21 years ago while working together at Ben & Jerry’s, and what began as a workplace friendship grew into one of those rare connections that endures through countless chapters of life. Emily has always had a remarkable ability to make people feel cared for, understood, and supported, and she carries that gift with a grace that seems effortless. Over the years, Emily has shown up for me again and again, often when I needed it most. More than once, she has been a genuine lifeline, offering support, encouragement, and compassion without hesitation. I honestly don’t know anyone with a kinder heart. The world would be a much better place if there were more people with her character, humor, and generosity. If anything, I need to be a far better friend to her than I have been, because the consistency with which she has shown up in my life is something I will never take for granted. I’m eternally grateful for Emily and for the love, strength, and friendship. #MyCalicoQuilt #EmilySRyan #portland #pdx #kindness

Some good old fashioned family fun at our local bowling alley with @advocateaccessnw. It’s awesome how Genica is the hub of our family and keeps us all entertained with her variety of tactile hobbies. Her unique method of launching the ball has great accuracy seeing the center pins. With her personal bowling ball and shoes, she came ready to play. 👑 🎳
