It’s no accident that The Curated Home conference has found its home in the Wasatch Back‼️ From Midway to the south, up to Powder Mountain to the north—and everything in between—there isn’t a hotter luxury residential market in the world.🏔️

👉🏼This week, an elite group of homebuilders, architects and interior designers descended upon Deer Valley for the second annual event organized by Burchette & Burchette. @realhardwoodfloors

Look at these spectacular Heber Valley views from the opening Social hosted by @edgebuilders @jacksonandleroy @build.hill and @hillandcobuilders . It’s no wonder that everyone who visits, wants to find a way to stay here!

Panel discussions included topics like “Building Better Teams” with @olsonkundig and @dowbuilt , “Building an Enduring Multi-Author Practice” with @walkerwarnerarchitects , and “Who is the House Really For?” with @backenandbacken and @peacedesign

‼️This type of attention, with such a meeting of the minds, indicates that the sophistication and quality of the homes being built in our Utah mountains are quickly being elevated. It is evident that the best is yet to come!

Mountain views, modern lines and a few pieces we were very happy to spot!

A recent story in @MLScottsdale takes us inside a Gozzer Ranch retreat overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene, where @PeaceDesign pairs reclaimed wood and regional stone with contemporary art and design.

@Donzella_Ltd appears throughout the home with two sculptures by David Haskell, along with a bowl and vase by Dena Zemsky. From @MaisonGerard, Carol Egan’s Twist shelf in ebonized sapele puts a sculptural spin on the rustic backdrop.

On the frontier, the cabin was the claim.

Under the Homestead Act of 1862, the mountains west settlers received 160 acres if they lived on the land + improved it for five years. Building a house was what made the claim “count“. It seems the west has always rewarded those who planned ahead.

This project and team practiced constant adherence and sensitivity to the assemblage of volumes, authenticity of materials selected, and proportion & scale from largest mass or volume… to smallest detail.

Our Final Panel, what a group! "Who is the Home for?"

I love the conversations that come from our Panels. While the panels are amazing, the planning for the panels that goes on behind the scenes is often Pure Gold.....and that was certainly the case with this group!

Now is the time to be nosy🔎✨ Step inside the personal dwellings of prominent Atlanta design professionals with our October issue!

Architect @robertdnorris opens the door to his personal home that he shares with the Norris Girls, his playful bunch of golden retrievers. At @jessicawalmsleyinteriors’, decades-worth of collecting is on full display (bold color lovers are going to love this one!). And on our cover, Pam Sessions and Don Donnelly of @hedgewoodhomes tap longtime friends and collaborators to craft their forever home.
