Act III
Nowhere will world be, but within
October 16–18, 2026

Artistic programme

The third act of the artistic annual programme, titled Nowhere will world be, but within, brings the year’s exploration of the theme Hauntings/ Heimsuchungen to a close — a process that has unfolded at the Bärenzwinger over the past months.

What began with the question of how the hidden can be brought to the surface and transformed now culminates in a process of reorientation and re-situating: A walk with the Amazonen through and around the Bärenzwinger on Friday evening sharpens our attention to what lies in the immediate surroundings. After the walk, C.D. Noé will present a live concert.

On Saturday, the DJ set by Sonoki creates a shared space for coming together. Tess Voelker’s dance performance traces the inner complexity of experience and asks what happens when the inside moves outward. The programme concludes on Sunday with an ekphrasis workshop by Erin Honeycutt, Cru Encarnação und Saverio Cantoni.

Free admission

Curated by Pauline Kling, Josephine Steffens and Nicola Reißer

Concert and live session with C.D. Noé

Fri, 16 October, 8–9pm
Bärenzwinger Berlin
Free admission

The third act of the artistic annual programme 'Nowhere will world be, but within' continues with a concert by C.D. Noé.

For his concert at Bärenzwinger, C.D. Noé combines fragments from his current album with previously unreleased musical sketches. The performance takes up the theme of the exhibition and responds to the works on display in musical form.

C.D. Noé is a Berlin-based musician and composer of electronic music. For many years, he has worked at the intersection of analog and digital synthesizer composition and presented his work internationally. His primarily piece-based, but also installation-oriented sound works bring together influences from minimalism, impressionism, jazz, baroque structures, and ambient music.

Rather than focusing on volume or maximalism, his work explores multilayered, geometric sequences of tones as well as the integration of his own field recordings. The result is a series of organic-sounding, synthetic textures that unfold throughout the space.

Very happy to have played all things Harmonic Elastic on @noodsradio last week as pebbletex - a musical project that has been slowly coming together over the past few years

The term Harmonic Elastic began as a way to describe a clear through line running through a lot of different music that I have been making and listening to

It often seems very physical, percussive, colourful, and utopian, traits shared by a lot of the early Detroit Techno and Fourth World music I love, and pushed forward by more recent experimental electronic stuff

The idea is that the show will be an ongoing experiment in figuring out what this stuff is and what, if anything, ties it all together

If that sounds good - then hit the link up top - and lmk what you think :)

➕ some a/v inspiration for both the show and the gorgeous original art by @pngparty / @kt.gehrke

C.D. NOÉ (Berlin)
FRIDAY 21:00 - kultursalen

The rhythms, melodies and textures of C.D. Noé’s generous compositions reflect a familiar yet esoteric musical mathematics. Drawing inspiration from baroque elaboration, japanese impressionism, New York minimalism and ambient pastoral, C.D. Noé animates his machines with a touching sense of musical and emotional openness.

Some moments ago I did this thing where I played some music in front of a camera at @room303radio 🫧

After almost having a panic attack trying to find the exit of Shinjuku station, I decided it was time to transcend my flesh prison and ascend to the astral plane to become a [concept] 🌀🪽

I played some bittersweet music I like in a (hopefully) chaotic good sound collage akin to a late night tab surfing session during a sleepless night

The name of the show is”mess is lore” is a not-so-subtle foreshadowing of my new radio residency that will start in September on @laceradio 🍀

You can find the recording on SoundCloud and on Room303’s YouTube channel (although I might look a bit different there…)

Thanks to my dear friends Raphou Oélia & Dillio for chilling with me in the aquarium 🐡

1. C.D. Noé - Plexi x ouestypeshi - double cup
2. Gel: - La Tyrannie du Tout-Digital x Upsammy - embrytone
