$With Pollen just around the corner we are buzzing to introduce @peak.refractions creating flowers that never fade! Peak Refractions is a Sheffield-based stained glass business that celebrates the natural beauty of the Peak District’s landscape, flowers, and foliage. Creating delicate stained glass flower stems and landscapes inspired by the Peak District. Each piece is individually designed and handcrafted using the Tiffany technique, a stained glass method that allows for the creation of curves, organic contours, movement, and intricate detail. Except a range of birth month flowers and wild flowers at Pollen, along with some local, well-known Peak District landscapes with something provided for every budget! Peak refraction celebrates the deep connection we have with the natural world around us, and as Sheffielders in particular, with the Peak District. $This weekend has been brilliant!! I’ve spent the past couple of days 11am-5pm exploring dozens of studios with my dad as part of @openupsheffield , and it’s been such a joy! There have been SO MANY lovely chats with talented artists, purchasing quite a bit of beautiful art which I now need to find a place for (!!) and meeting some gorgeous animals along the way… dogs, cats… and a 60 year old tortoise (I think my favourite visit!) 🐢 Many studios are also open tomorrow and next weekend if you fancy going along, would highly recommend: https://openupsheffield.co.uk Thank you @Gdesigns @peak.refractions @katewellsartist @phil_alderson_illustration @cardigan_art @hummingbirdglass @avvceramics @krhodesartist @conkertreepots @rosie_b_creates @dawnirelandtextileartist @echinoceramics @anneatkinsonart @kate_ackroyd_cooke @tom.heller1 @tweedalebrian @pennywithers @nicholstokesdesigns$

$What I love this week... Stained Glass Flowers - delicate, everlasting, and simply beautiful A vase of flowers will always lift a room, but they don't last beyond a few days. Artificial or dried flowers are a great substitute, but I think these beauties go one step further - beautifully crafted, stunning to look at, elegant in their simplicity - and just imagine how amazing they look when the light from the window catches them! Here's my favourites that I discovered on Folksy this week: 💐 Gypsophilia Leaded Glass Flowers by @glass_lore_ 💐 Stained Glass Yellow Poppies by Stained Glass Flowers 💐 Cow parsley Stained Glass Stems by @peak.refractions 💐 Stained Glass Posy by @eiderglass If you've never heard of the Folksy site I encourage you to take a look. It's the home of truly independent British artisans, crafters and designers. Nothing mass produced masquerading as something it's not, everything genuinely handmade!
