🎤 An afternoon of music, art, theatre and community, featuring:

@ysdndy_art in conversation.

Tahira is a self-taught portrait artist from North London and founder of YSDNDYart (Your Skin Does Not Define You), an independent portraiture practice that uses vibrant colour to explore identity, race and our shared humanity.

She founded YSDNDYart to challenge racial bias, promote equality and explore identity beyond societal constructs. Born from my own experiences of racial prejudice, my portraits are intentionally absent of natural skin tones, instead embracing bold, vibrant colours that reflect the depth and individuality of each person.
By inviting viewers into a realm where identity transcends pigmentation, my work encourages people to look beyond appearance, see the individual for who they are, and connect with my emotional landscape through the colour in each portrait, highlighting our shared humanity.
Through my work, I aim to inspire reflection, challenge assumptions and stereotypes, spark meaningful conversations and encourage people to see the world through a more open and human lens.

The last few months we have been busy building a new website, get some new (how many is too many?) plants, and lots wonderful new therapists joined our growing community!

We now have rooms in Peckham and London Fields 🪴 . Interested in joining our community? Drop us a line!

Ready for proper psychotherapy? We work both in person and online and have therapy from £50 per session. Drop us a line or visit our website to book a session. Our team is here to help.

Also! Our Christmas do is booked (ALREADY?!) thanks to the wonderful @juliet_stephens_ , we are planning more talks with @peckhamlevels and @sohohouse and we hope to see you either at one of those or in our therapy rooms. Whatever and whenever suits you, we are here when you’re ready. Watch this space!
