FEATURED FILM

Tambu

Directed by Laurie Lambert
Jamaica · 2026 · 22 min 59 sec

A documentary exploring #TambuFest, a day-long celebration of drumming and dance in Jamaica. Through festival footage, visits to plantation ruins and archival imagery from Ghana, the film traces how drumming traditions, from kumina to djembe, preserve African diasporic histories and are passed between generations. Each beat is a testament to survival, resistance and cultural pride.

Today I went riding with the BWOW cycling group @bwow.cycling

From London Bridge to Beckenham Place.

In total I rode for 20.43 miles.

I met some really nice ladies.

Thank you Rose for organising all this and to the bike guide who really help me to keep going especially up that last hill.

I was excited and worried at the same time as I did not want to trigger any pains in my knees.

Guys never underestimate yourself as it turns out I was more than capable.

Thank you Tanya @ukbidii for Introducing me to this group because I really enjoyed the day.

It was fun, so much so I am looking forward to having another bike ride.

Just reposting my drawings of the archway under the old cinema on #ryelanepeckham because the building has been in the news this week, after developing cracks and allegedly being on the point of falling down. Scaffolding has now been erected and the entire lane is currently closed for the next 7-10 days. I hope this iconic tower survives. I think I read somewhere that it’s the twin of the one at the #angelislington -designed by the same architect apparently @peckhamlive @southlondontoday @southlondonlandscape @south.londonpress @brixtonbuzz #wallscometumblingdown #stylecouncil

Rye Lane has closed: which has left locals with one important question - what happens to all that road?

Early proposals have been made and professionals are calling it a “proper beer garden”

No decisions have officially been made.

Kunstkammer or Cabinet of Curiosities, is a collaboration between Dora Frankel and Peter Coyte that fuses dance, spontaneous composition, and with aural and movement improvisation, creating intimate, immersive, site-responsive performances.

This performance is enriched and extended by an experimental film, created using spontaneous editing by video artist Mark Watson, aka Dizqo.

Following week we are opening Jacqueline Poncelet In Translation.

Jacqueline Poncelet
In Translation
20 September - 3 October
Opening Event: Sunday 20 September 2pm-4pm

In Translation, a new tapestry by Jacqueline Poncelet, realised in collaboration with master weaver Caron Penney of Atelier Weftfaced.

The exhibition brings together the finished tapestry with the original watercolour on paper (64 x 84 cm) from which it was developed, inviting visitors to consider how an artwork changes as it moves from one medium to another.
