Happy Earth Day, friends! 🌍

Today, we’re reminded that sustainability doesn’t have to mean overhauling your life - it starts with simple, intentional choices. And sometimes, it starts with your next purchase. 🌱

At The Social Space, we make it easy to shop with purpose. Every part of our business - from how we pack your order to the brands we carry - is designed to reduce waste and do good. Think reused paper bags, milk cartons turned into art projects, and a curation of thoughtful products that are kind to both people and planet.

Our #EarthDayEdit is a celebration of 9 simple swaps that make a real difference. From reusable kitchen tools to upcycled accessories, each item helps you live more sustainably - without giving up style, quality, or comfort.

Whether you’re refreshing your space, gifting consciously, or making that first eco-friendly switch, these picks are a great place to start. ✨

Swipe through, get inspired, and shop the change you want to see.

Then head to our latest Earth Day blog (link in bio) for a deeper look on how we keep it green behind the scenes - because every conscious choice has the power to create change. And it starts with you. 💚

Remember small changes always make a big impact! Here are some of my favourite areas to start and items you can swap to build more sustainable kitchen habits.

Composting 🌱 - strangely has become my pride and joy that I have successfully influenced my husband into. (Except for removing the stickers 😑). In Brooklyn I had a community garden that had compost collection every Sunday and weighed your bag each time. In Miami I am dropping it off in compost bins at the botanic garden on the beach using a community lock code so I can drop off when I need.

Plant Based Sponges 🧽- I will NEVER go back to a plastic sponge knowing it will probably outlive me in this world. Toxic chemicals used to create them and microplastics are released into waterways and probably your dishes on every use. The tools I use are just as effective and guilt free.

Refillable cleaning pods 🫧- I got mine from @blueland as I love their mission and ethos. DRY pods generally have less carbon footprint because liquid in weight contribute to heavy transport needs and therefore carbon footprint. You simply drop it into any spray bottle you have lying around with water to dissolve and you have an effective cleaning solution without having to buy a new plastic bottle each time you run out of cleaning spray. Logic.

Reusable bags for groceries 🛒 - you end up consuming 1000s of thin, flimsy, polluting single use plastic bags that’s the Earth and its animals suffocate on. And now a lot of supermarkets are charging you for them. What is the point when you use it for minutes of your life and it’s so easy to bring a reusable @pecobag with you everywhere. One of the first places that opens your eyes to unconscious consumption and that seems madness when there a convenient, foldable options of reusable bags that’s you can always have one on you. #saynotosingleuseplastic

Try growing your own Greens 🥬- it’s fun and really really satisfying. I got my hydroponics system from @gardyntech and it using herbs and eating greens for my cooking at my own pace without it going off in my fridge and supports my slow living. My farm house will come one day 🫠
