Art is alive + well. I know it to be true when I look at your faces. I have felt the promise of holding my heart out, leaning into flutters of impulse to share my personal messes unabashedly, against the inhabitable frameworks of judgement and opinion, and it leading me to thou. A late stage that asks us to be fixed, final and alone when all we want is to be expressed and not turned away at heavens gates or rather judges table for our divergent natures.

Stage Girl was an album made in rebellion of a system that doesn’t serve us — ironically, it only further thrusted me into it so why would I stop now? How could I refine and “tighten up my act” when it’s always been most compelling and cathartic to be a (hot) mess and honor the imperfection amongst a forgiving crowd full of like minded and like emotional people. So if you’re coming to Strange Girl, leave your opinions and your expectations on the phone. Let a dirty girl be a hot mess, Type C/Z, and incomplete, maybe you will learn a thing or two about yourself. These nights will be a moment of unusual levels of playing dress up, self-acceptance and honoring the girl who entered the competition only to realize it never had to be one in the first place. That’s a real trophy. Letting the life flow through and into you, not against or amongst you. After all, this is your show. Not mine. The notion that art is dying or the end is near is but a falsehood paid for and owned in perpetuity by the strong hand of rule; although, need we not fear, for a domination placed upon another is an illusive force. In other words, a power dependent on the control of other human beings is not a real power, despite its notable millenniums of momentum to unravel. True power comes from the depths of your core, the feminine force, indomitable in its nature, giving literal birth to life and possibility. That can never be destroyed within you, only hidden from yourself by the constellations of complexities and parts. The end is near, sure; but gratefully, at the end of anything awaits a girl named beginning, hold out her hand and crossing her fingers. ⋆.ೃ࿔ ݁ ˖*༄*ੈ✩‧₊

i am so honored to have my body of work be cared for, critiqued, and respected by @pitchfork 🦈🦓 thank you @hannah.jocelyn.c for your time, your consideration, your work, your kindness, and even your unfortunate (only because i am sensitive, not because it isn’t worth considering) admittance of my clunker. had i went with make this pussy come first maybe ?? that’d be more satisfying to the listener but as i assume you clocked, the stage girl dialogue is laced with gender entendres. some weirder than others. thank you for seeing my radio disney heart that set out to heal & reclaim once and for all at once. an album that started with an empty bedroom in bushwick, a mustache and a perceived death sentence ended in a mountain of glitter fedoras, a magical community, rca paid and bought for jimmy choos, unrecoupable advance dread, clayton hawkins, lex master curls & john novotonny chunky highlight curly hair below my waist line, and an uncovered, liberating, lifesaving, identity i could die on. thank you for praising me and my production collaborators @jasonvanceharris & @mikewise1117 on our encyclopedic knowledge🙊☺️. i wonder what i will make next (hehe🫣) this is something i have prayed for, for sooooooo many years. lowkey was a bit worried i would get a 4 so im relieved and grateful!! #PopMusicHasMerit even tho i think stage girl is an 8.4. im clawing my way into these pinch me moments. maybe that’s catty? 😸

am I too late? some things I did in 2025 that cost no dollars and made me feel good:

- read books from the library
- took walks without my phone
- hugged and kissed my dog
- kept promises to myself
- met new friends
- did hard things

On that last note, I have some projects super close to my heart I’ll be sharing more about this year including!
