Some rooms remind you why you started.

Yesterday I spent the day at Brilliance26: Women Creating the Future of Health, right here in Atlanta.

Hospital CEOs. Chief medical officers. Health tech founders. Attorneys shaping health policy. Emergency physicians from my own specialty. Every seat held by a woman shaping how care gets delivered.

One of the featured speakers was Dr. Jessica Shepherd @jessicashepherdmd . We have gotten to know each other over the past year through mutual colleagues, IG fitness challenges 💪🏽, and private group chats, so hugging her neck was so perfect. Her work through her book Generation M and as the Chief Medical Officer for HERS is carrying the menopause conversation into exam rooms and living rooms across the country, and she does it with clarity and zero fluff.

Here is what I left with. Women make most of the healthcare decisions in this country, and for decades women were left out of the research. That gap closes when women lead. When women run the hospitals, fund the studies, build the companies, and sit across from patients who have been told their symptoms are “just stress.”

That is the work at Path Health every day. It was a gift to sit in a room full of women doing it at every level.

“What’s One Thing You Wish Parents Asked More?” 👶🏽🩺

Dr. Works shares an important reminder: There are no stupid questions when it comes to your child’s health.

As parents, it’s completely normal to have questions or concerns that you may feel embarrassed, uncomfortable, or even “silly” asking a healthcare professional. But instead of asking, many people turn to Google, social media, or online forums hoping to find an answer.
The problem? Not everything you find online is accurate, reliable, or specific to your child’s situation.

Your healthcare team is there to help you understand what’s happening, ask questions without judgment, and feel confident making informed decisions about your child’s care.

If something is on your mind—even if you think it sounds obvious or insignificant—ASK. Your question may be more important than you realize.
