Swipe ➡️ to take a trip down memory lane with me

Fourteen years.

That's how long ago the journey began; navigating becoming a hairstylist, salon owner, educator, and now a coach for hairstylists and beauty pros.

👉🏽In the beginning, it was all about how many skills you could perfect, how full your book was, staying on top of the latest industry trends, and making sure your client's hair stayed in fabulous shape in between appointments too...

👉🏽Then as a new salon suite owner, it became creating an environment and a true experience that would leave your guest feeling refreshed, renewed, and delivering on allll the #hairgoals.

👉🏽Fast forward to opening a boutique salon, where you want to build culture and lead a team, adding on apprenticeships, and growing the biz from a macro point of view...

👉🏽Then as a Coach, to help fill the gaps with education, knowledge and mentorship to help Beaty pros find their own personal version of success as they create a career that aligns with their values and lifestyle goals.

I have seen so many industry changes...

Fourteen years of ups and downs.

One thing that has never changed though...

Are the PEOPLE. The friends, mentors and collaborators I've met along the way, have made ALL the difference in each and every step of this journey.

Happy National Hairstylist Appreciation Day!

My mantra has always been:
HAIR is my CRAFT.
PEOPLE are my PASSION.

I'd love to know who the people, mentors, coaches that have helped you along in your journey?

Another "Golden Oldie" back in the day when I was a Part time Davines Trainer. Allilon "Look and Learn" 2014. Model "hunted" and worked back stage. What an amazing experience and team!
Hairdressers Journal even published an article.

𝘼𝙨 𝙖 𝙩𝙤𝙥 100 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙢𝙮 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙠 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙧...
It’s hard for me to choose one mentor, because throughout my life I’ve had many that I look up to at different times in my life.
𝙆𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝙃𝙐𝙎𝙎𝙀𝙔 from Allilon, her patience, passion and care as an educator is beyond any I’ve ever come across, she won’t give up until you get it. She saw my potential before I did, taught me how important discipline is when it comes to the craft, and understanding the Why, How and When. I never really understood why I made the decisions I did until Kate came along. She made me enjoy cutting again. And she is the most incredible human being too!
𝙋𝙀𝘿𝙍𝙊 𝙄𝙉𝘾𝙃𝙀𝙉𝙆𝙊 from Allilon is the most caring, humble mentor, he has always believed in me and cheered me on, he understands each student and their emotional ability to push through. Above all I appreciate his honesty, his humility and his desire to see you succeed. I am always in awe of his presence.
𝘽𝙔𝙍𝙊𝙉 𝙈𝘼𝙔𝙀𝙍, MD of Carlton Hair. My boss and friend. Over the years I have learned so much from him when it comes to business and education. His priority for his staff is education. He goes above and beyond to make sure we are mentored. It is because of him that I have had these opportunities. He has always believed in me, and thrown me in the deep end at times, but saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself. He is an inspiration, and it shows more now through this tough time that we are all going through.
𝘿𝘼𝙑𝙄𝘿 𝙂𝙄𝙇𝙇𝙎𝙊𝙉 has played a huge part in my career, he has not only being an amazing friend, but he has pushed me and encouraged me to do things I never thought I was good enough to do. From his advice on hair trends to travel to fashion, he has been one of my biggest mentors. I owe a lot of my success to him.
