Built from scratch around one idea: blend R&B with Brazilian funk.

Here is my process for full harmonies.
👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇

Before tracking harmonies, open 7 audio tracks.
1 for the rec. Once you record, you can drag and drop quickly into a printed track.
2 for low harmonies, pan L/R (20%).
2 for mid harmonies, pan L/R (50%).
2 for high harmonies, pan L/R (80-100%).

Usually I do low narrow and high wide, but in some cases it could be the opposite.

Try to record the same harmonies 2 times so you can add the L and R to have that stereo effect.

You need to ask yourself what role your harmonies need to play, either a wall of sound or just a widening effect on your lead vocal. Depending on this answer, you will need to push them back more or less.

A few extra tools that help me with that: reverb on insert with dry/wet, early reflection, chorus, Waves Doubler pushing back the center, plate reverb on aux, cut the highs and low frequencies.

Most producers hand you a beat and step back.
This is how I actually work with an artist.

1. Vibe and find the feeling
2. Record the melodies
3. Lyrics with the right intention
4. Build the full arrangement together
5. Record the back vocals
6. Make space for the artist to express himself
