Threading Theatre Community Day #6 is just around the corner 🔗

On Sunday 6th of September, we gather once again for a stacked day with backspaces, conversations and possibilities.

Program:
10:30-11:00 doors open
11:00-14:00 workshop [theme] Backspace
•
15:00-16:00 talk / discussion
16:00-17:00 threading circle
17:00-18:00 open space
•
19:00-21:30 jam with live music

The day will be facilitated by @justin.dejager & @sael_petit. During the workshop they will guide you through the backspace. A specific arm mechanic that moves your arm from the front of the body to the back. Forcing you to navigate through the space the eyes can’t see. Trusting the grip to provide the direction that is available. In Justin’s words: ‘The realm I introduce to someone to let them experience the essence of threading right away. Tangling up and unraveling from there.’

Obsessive threading post alert ‼️

Two years ago, the last interview for ‘From Head To Heart’ concluded with projecting my wish for a sustainable threading community. And as the practice keeps revealing: If there is a will, there is a way. Proudly I can say that we are very much on the way.

The second edition of the Threading Theatre’s Movement Retreat is starting tomorrow and I’m grateful that all this happening. I realized early on, that I cannot do it alone but together we can move mountains. Thank you for everyone that has believed in me and joined me of this quest. Connecting people through a philosophy that keeps expanding the further we excavate its meaning.

Life is a never ending negotiating between holding on and letting go.

Threading Theatre Community Day #5 was another great gathering of lovely people.

We had a great mix of community members, breakers with their own approach to threads and eager people who experienced threading for the first time.

It’s beautiful how the ‘Each One Teach One’ philosophy became the departure of this community day. Facilitated by @semdelivery.1 and @justin.dejager while each individual contributed and collectively held the space together.

SA 7 MARCH -> Threading Theatre Community Day #3

Program:
11:00-14:00 | Workshop

This community day is an opportunity for everyone who wants to learn, connect and exchange through the language of threading. We structured the program in a way that is accessible for everyone. No dance experience needed, just curiosity!

What to expect?

Workshop:
For everybody who wants to learn the fundamentals of threading. In this workshop we will dive into different elements of the language and learn the methodology to put the principles into action. This is the moment to become a student once more, to be curious and to play, wherever you are in your movement practice.

Research + Creation:
From the learning we go into playing. We dive deeper into the theatricality of the language. As a group and individually there is a freedom to explore concepts and patterns while having a shared vocabulary and grammar to work with.

Jam:
To meet, to greet, to dare to go and find the unknown. The evening arrives and at this time we allow our brains to go silent and to surrender to the body. Together we carry the space, creating safety to go into your bubble or daring to meet and to find the inbetween space together. Let’s go!

Fee for the entire day is 40 euros.

If you only want to come for the workshop, the fee is 30 euros.

Jamming is the best way to put your mind in the passengers seat and let the body drive. After a full day of exploration through clear principals, we understood the task and invited play to guide us. Taking each others to places that we always knew existed.

Threading Theatre Community Day #1

Damnnn, where to start… This day was everything I hoped it was going to be. A day with all the space to touch many of the different energies and layers that exist within the world of threading. From workshopping fundamental principals, to exploring the theatrics, creation and jamming with live music.

Threading Theatre Community Day #2 will take place on Saturday 29th of Nov in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Full program from 11:00 till 22:00. All the info and registration form on www.threadingtheatre.com / link in bio.

Additionally: If you’re not from The Netherlands but want to join, message me in DM because we can host a decent amount of people. Plus we can do a little session on Friday night to kick it off and conclude with a session on the Sunday to make it more worth while to travel for.
