A photographic hair collection inspired by 1970s fashion, Central European travel and the characters you might meet along the way.

@fergaldoylehair imagined these portraits as if a photographer had caught a group of women mid-journey, somewhere on a train between Vienna and Budapest. Each girl has her own character and her own story. They’re travelling through 1970s Central Europe, caught between cities, cultures and eras, with that fleeting, slightly dreamlike feeling of watching the world pass by through a train window.

For my British Hairdressing Awards 2026 collection, The Station, I wanted to bring together cinematic portraits, vintage tailoring, bold pattern and nostalgic colour. The hair takes inspiration from the architecture of Prague, Vienna and Budapest: structured shapes softened with movement, texture and flowing lines.

It’s a collection about contrasts: precision and spontaneity, strength and softness, and the things that stay with us as we move on. A little theatrical, a little nostalgic, and full of women in motion.
