Made in Birmingham - Screened in Birmingham 🐂

Still reminiscing about our time at Flatpack Festival @flatpackfestival last May. Bringing A Glass House to the #madeinthemidlands programme was a massive highlight of 2025. Being part of a BAFTA-qualifying festival in our hometown was a dream come true.

Big love to the 0121 film community for the support! ❤️💪

Always a pleasure to be back at Chapter @chapterartscentre

We were over the move to get to screen A Glass House at the Chapter MovieMaker @chaptermoviemaker back in May 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Chapter holds a special place in our hearts, as it’s where we screened our first ever film, and the support they’ve shown us since day one has been incredible.

Thank you, Chapter, for the memories and for being one of our favourite spots in Wales. Huge thanks to everyone who came out to support the screening!

At Mansfield Town Film Festival, women’s voices aren’t an add-on. They’re essential. 🎬✨

MTFF was built on a simple belief: powerful stories come from lived experience and women have always been telling them, even when the industry hasn’t been listening. ❤️🎥

Across our first three editions, women filmmakers have shaped the heart of our programme.

Stories about identity, class, motherhood, queerness, disability, friendship, love, anger, joy and survival.

Films that are intimate, political, funny, raw and fearless. Stories that deserve space. 🌍

We know the barriers are real.

Underfunding. Underrepresentation. Being talked over. Being boxed in.

MTFF exists to push back against that, to create a festival where women filmmakers are seen, supported and celebrated on their own terms. 🙌

We’ve watched women creatives grow in confidence, build networks, win awards and take their next steps, because someone finally gave them the room to be heard. And when they are, the work speaks for itself. ❤️‍🔥

With MTFF26 on the way, that commitment only deepens.

If you’re a woman filmmaker with a story to tell - especially if you’ve ever felt overlooked or underestimated, this festival is for you.

MTFF is your home. 🫶

Bold voice?
Quiet voice?
Angry voice?
Tender voice?
We want your film.
We want you. 🎞️💖

🎟️ Submissions for 2026 are now open, link in our bio!

💛📹Sharing this awesome film by @redpwade made earlier this year because today I learnt that following the #saveoursaturdays campaign, libraries in South Birmingham have just secured outside funding to keep libraries open on Saturdays for at least twice as long as BCC stated in September(just 12 months). It’s a welcome reminder that activism counts, contribution matters and without the activism, libraries would undoubtedly be in a worse position. It’s been really good to be involved, albeit in a small way compared to some incredible people in @brumloveslibraries . The future of community libraries is by no means certain, including for my own local library in Harborne, but it might be looking up 💛#librariesgiveuspower #dontfuckwithbooks

REPOST• @rural_media For the Love of the Library: Harborne by @redpwade

#ArtFlicks is an #ACESupported project that supports emerging artists to create and distribute original content 📲

Red is a Brummie filmmaker who considers themselves to be a triple threat; queer, mixed, and disabled. The big 3 have influenced their deep desire to stand up for the little guy through the medium of film, with their production company Pelé Rocket.

About the making of their films, Red told us:

“From masonic hall to free library, Harborne is rich in history and as tough as its nail makers. One of only four Birmingham libraries facing relocation, it needs our fight. I hope this moving collage hammers home the message: our library stays.”

Featuring Zoe from @Punksandchancers bab, @blackcountrytype, @brumlibraryzine, and Rob from #HarborneLibraryHubGroup.
