POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In our latest Golf Club Talk UK Stories episode, in partnership with Himalayas Golf, Eddie Pelz shares some of the thinking behind the Pelz approach to the short game, and why improvement isn’t simply about spending more time hitting balls on the range.

From wedges and bunker play to chipping and putting, Eddie discusses the importance of giving every part of the game the attention it deserves and creating a more structured approach to practice.

Drawing on a lifetime around his father Dave Pelz’s work, Eddie also shares how a scientific, data-led approach helped shape many of the short-game principles golfers still use today.

Eddie has also done, and is doing great work around improving synthetic facilities and now working with Himalayas Golf in this space.

In the first episode of Golf Club Talk UK Stories, recorded in Scotland around the Scottish Open and in partnership with Himalayas Golf, Leighton is joined by Eddie Pelz, son of legendary golf instructor and innovator Dave Pelz.

Eddie shares what it was like growing up around his father’s pioneering work and how the Pelz approach helped change the way golfers think about the short game, practice and performance.

From testing ideas with the likes of Tom Kite, to the development of the 60-degree wedge and Pelz Golf Schools, the conversation is packed with stories from a lifetime around the game.

We also hear about the incredible Pelz Backyard, creating a home practice facility for Sir Nick Faldo, and Eddie’s work exploring how smaller, high-quality practice facilities could make golf more accessible.

Golf Club Talk UK Stories takes us beyond club management to explore the people, personalities and experiences behind the game — and this is a great place to start.

I’m excited to have represented the buyer in the purchase of this beautiful 4-bedroom home in Kensington Green, within the gated community of Cordillera.

Set overlooking the Dave Pelz Short Course, the home offers incredible golf course and mountain views, expansive windows, a spacious deck and hot tub, and a vaulted great room designed for gathering.

Congratulations to my clients on their new mountain retreat!

🏌️ The 6 Golf Books That Helped Me Play My Best

Great golf is about more than the swing. During the times when I played my best golf, these six books helped sharpen my technique, strengthen my mindset, and bring more purpose to every shot:

6. Harvey Penick's Little Red Book - Harvey Penick
5. Ben Hogan's Five Lessons - Ben Hogan
4. Golf's Sacred Journey: Seven Days on the Links of Utopia - David L. Cook
3. Dave Pelz's Short Game Bible - Dave Pelz
2. Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect - Dr. Bob Rotella
1. Every Shot Must Have a Purpose - Pia Nilsson, Lynn Marriott, and Ron Sirak

Each one influenced a different part of my game - fundamentals, short-game technique, course strategy, confidence, focus, and the deeper meaning behind why we play.

Golf will always test both skill and character. These books helped me become more intentional, trust my game, and enjoy the journey along the way.

📚 I've put all six books together on my Amazon list.

Find the link in my bio.

Whereas good gear is of course essential, a good read can do a lot to improve your golf game as well… and this is a true bible

Not making golf turf “just because” — we build it for golfers who care about a true roll. Enthusiasts or pros, this is practice that actually translates.

Father’s Day is coming up and there’s still time to book: backyard, patio, or even an indoor setup (rec room/gym/garage). Dave Pelz says it best—consistency builds confidence. DM SYNLawn VanIsle to book a free consultation!

Dropped off a few new reads for the ‘ClubHouse Library’ 👌🏾.

2026 & beyond we are normalizing ‘ Reading At The Range’. Let’s ALL try to get some golf books in the local muni near you for the young golfers to grab, read and return. 📚 📕 📖 Golf Summer Reading 😊
