our fourth and final up&coming show with @portland5_culturecommunity + other tb goods from my cam roll. :,)

being on the youth arts council at portland’5 has been such a special experience i am lucky to have from learning what is takes to plan community shows, attending creative workshops, going to my first musical, being able to access studio spaces and gaining more confidence in myself as a creative. im so proud to know each cohort member, mentor, mentee, and friend ive met along the way.

while this may be our final show for now, this experience has reminded me just how impactful it is for youth to have access to the arts and spaces to experiment, what it means to show up for others and yourself, to take up space guilt free, and use creative expression as a tool to invest in our communities.

@aznzinefest haul! I got stickers, i got big zines, I got small zines, I got art prints! If you want creative inspiration, you need to go to a zine fest. The organizers did such a good job!!! (I say this as a former zine fest organizer) I loved the mix of vendors— some bigger/glossier and some smaller/newer zinesters, and so many different types of work! I tried to tag all the creators, but let me know who I missed!
Guide to my pics:
1. Stickers, including Shrimp Daddy by @tamiko.sidore and the all-too relatable period-themed sheet by @headexplodie
2. Big zines—art tips from @swaggalicioustime, a pickleball zine by @blackeyedelma for my pickleball playing wife, and zines by @yumisakugawa and @koreangry …yes please!
3. Lots of small zines including a #JunkJournal zine that contains actual junk by @gracellem_ 😍😍
4. Art prints! I only got contact info for @mayaxenriquez, who made the adorable Heated Rivalry print. Does anyone know who made the other two??
5. Close-up of the sticker I got from @yumisakugawa. Their work is so inspiring and I felt lucky to buy some in person. 🖤
