I’ve always loved swimming; it was the one thing, as a fat girl, where I felt no restriction or shame. My dad used to take my brother and I every Sunday after church (great incentive to get us to go, to be honest), and I loved every minute of it. Playing mermaids🧜‍♀️ , attempting handstands in the water, which I definitely couldn’t and still can’t do on land, was all part of the fun.

It was a regular part of my routine, but now, it’s something I don’t do enough. These days, I only swim on holiday. While I love swimming in a warm sea or snorkeling with the fish, I want to swim more for fitness. 🏊‍♀️🏝️🏖️🤿
So, I reached out to @penguinspalace to brush up on my technique because you’re never too old to learn or improve. They helped me see where I needed to make some changes to move my body more efficiently, and I won’t lie, those little changes really had me feeling like I was getting a good workout.
If you’re interested in adult or kids swimming lessons, I would 100% recommend @penguinspalace 🐧

We had such incredible time stand up paddleboarding with @active360sup this week! 🌟

For many of our young people, it was the first time taking part in a aquatic activity like this for, and despite some apprehension at the beginning, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves (even the ones who ended up more in the water than on the board).

We want to say a HUGE thank you to @young_kandc for supporting us to lead our youth days this summer. Next stop, Diver’s Cove…

Penguins Palace is a swim school for both children and adults based in the heart of Bermondsey & Tower Bridge founded by Kelvin & Aaron; they aspire to build a network of instructors, happy children and proficient penguins.

In the two years since they open their doors; they have gained the trust of over 100 students, been able to travel across the world to teach & build a formidable team of dedicated and professional teachers.

In this video Kelvin & Aaron talk about what Penguins Palace means to them, the impact it’s having within the community and where they want to take the company moving forward.

It was a pleasure documenting @penguinspalace in their element, especially knowing that it’s the mandem not letting stereotypes define them!
