The end of my last semester at Penn State. Wow. It ended with a mega Composers’ Concert V which had to be split up into two parts and the Other Arts Ensemble concert where my piece Evolution was performed again. The last two slides show snippets of the beginning and end but the whole thing is on YouTube. It won’t be able to capture the spatialization aspect which has to be in person but is still a great listen!
Thank you to my wonderful professors and peers who have helped me on this 5 year journey. I just decided I liked learned too much and did a 5th year for the love of the game. I’ll still be in the State College area for a while before I’m able to move into the next big phase of my life so I guess I’ll just be floating and working until then.

A busy March ahead, which is surely to be quite fruitful! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist).

Lots of “Orchard” is happening in March, starting with @projectfusionsq touring my “Fruit Snacks” collection for sax quartet around Ohio (worth mentioning that their program also includes @susannahancock’s HIATUS). Cincinnati peeps especially check out those details!! It’s a hyper rare opportunity to hear both mine and Susanna’s work not just in one place, but the place we live.

Some *NEW* arrangements of “Orchard” debut in Florida with the USF New Music Ensemble, led by @eunmi_camp. I’m really quite excited Eunmi asked for these arrangements, and what I love about them is that I was able to design them with ~*flex instrumentation*~. So if you’re in an ensemble consisting of two treble-ish instruments, percussion, and piano, be on the lookout for these soon!

Finally, I’ll be spending a week or so in Pennsylvania at my very first residency at @bischoffinn in Tamaqua, and on the way home, speaking with composition students at Penn State about why I believe composers make the best curators and advocates of contemporary music.

Now is also a great time to share that I’ve been overhauling the “Performances” section of my website to make it more interactive, easier to navigate, and dare I say… fun? I’m including screenshots of that here - you can visit https://www.tylerklinemusic.com/performances to check out the complete history of performances of my music going back SIXTEEN years(!!!).

All for now, thanks to everyone for supporting my work in so many different ways 🙏🙏🙏
