“Doesn’t have to be anything crazy as long as it has real impact”. —@penniepeace when she reached out, on behalf of @socialxurrency & @keysempirefoundation, to ask if I’d be interested in organizing a community x mental health event for youth here in Kenya. Girl, duuuh 🥹 I feel honored that y’all gave me range to curate what turned out to be a beautiful, fun-filled field day, and impactful experience. ✨

Putting together an event of this magnitude isn’t easy, but I felt like I was working with a wonder women team—the miss make it happen trio… pro max. On the real, @sheoykialexis, your grit doesn’t go unrecognized, your vision with @socialxurrency is blessed, and may it continue to impact lives in a culturally meaningful way. Kerubooo (@penniepeace x @foryourthoughtspod), I see you and am excited for the world to feel the impact of your multi-giftedness as you continued to shine brighter. 🤩🫶🏿

@ardenkey & @pinklip_charlie, thanks for spending a day of your honey moon with us. Arden, big up yaself for reaching out and filling these youth’s hope cups. After our on-stage conversation and listening to their questions and feedback, I could feel my world getting smaller in the best way, more connected. 🥹

I be telling y’all, if it has to do with Black healing, joy, love, x liberation, count me in.

Curated by a heart that loves both the Continent and the Diaspora.

From connecting with and selecting local partners who led psychoeducation and mind skills activities (@youth4mentalhealthke & @lvct_health), redefined our experience with movement to make it fun and engaging (@theathleticdugout), and supported the cause (@cbtkenya, @kpa_ke, & @moh_kenya - Mental Health Division). 🙌🏿

& to:
🎥our attentive and talented storytellers (@dreamcreationske x @filmbyslouch).
👩🏿‍🍳the delicious food that had folk lining up for more (@ssandys_pot).
🎤our lively hostess with the mostest (@wanluv).
🫡uncle Dr. Enoch Anassi who mobilized & provided transportation for 100+ youth.
🎶thee disc jokey and his sound team (@_mista.c).
💐the decor diva and her team of vendors (@angiethepilot).
🏡the gorgeous venue which saved the day (@namba_35).

Let’s close this month with the truth. You can be successful and still need support. You can be booked and still be depleted. You can be blessed and still be tired. You can be strong and still need help refilling.

Mental health is not just a mind conversation. It is also prayer, sleep, hydration, nutrition, activity/movement, therapy, boundaries, community, recovery, AND simply being honest with yourself.

And for the high performer who is used to carrying everything, that truth matters.

Because waiting until the crash is not a wellness plan.

IVybe exists for the person who leads, builds, serves, creates, performs, and shows up for everybody else, while their body is quietly asking for support too.

You deserve more than survival mode. You deserve more good days.
AND you deserve a wellness rhythm that supports the life you are trying to live.

CTA: DM GOOD DAYS if you are ready to build a wellness rhythm that helps support the body behind your capacity.

What podcasters changed the way you see yourself?

For @penniepeace , it was @lex_p_ and @dreanicoleee of the @pour_minds podcast. Their drive, consistency, and climb inspired her to continue being her authentic self as a creative, and not fear imperfection.
