🎵Thank you to everyone who came to Music in the Gardens and Watercolor Date Night! We had a lovely turnout with beautiful weather and an evening full of music, art, and nature.🌻 Visitors viewing artwork in a gallery; a large outdoor garden event with people enjoying the scenery; and a group of individuals engaged in watercolor painting in a classroom setting.

Looking at the turmoil in the world around us, it is difficult to believe that 25 years have passed since September 11, 2001. Most of the students singing in Essence of Joy were not yet alive that day. They did not witness it, but they understand what it means to live in a messy, complicated, and often violent world.

Leonard Bernstein reminds us that our reply to violence must be “to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.” Today, we offer Betty Jackson King’s setting of Psalm 57, a plea for mercy, refuge, and steadfast hope.
