🍁 Autumn Vibes 🍁
•
The leaves haven’t started turning here yet, but it also hasn’t been any warmer than 60 degrees. Any day now!
•
These colors are more vibrant than I had intended to use for this stack, but I just HAD to match this gorgeous leaf cookie from our local bakery!

What is “writing?” Will there be treats?

Too many treats, Spenser my boy, far too many treats.

Finally responding to the #gettoknowthebookstagrammer tag!

How tall are you?

About 5'2" or too short to take a reasonable selfie.

Dogs or cats?
Dogs! We have a long-haired miniature dachshund named Spenser after one of my favorite literary detectives from Robert B Parker. He has his own Instagram @yaboyspense
I'm endlessly amused by Internet cats though.

Did you go to college?

Yes, but it took me many years and 3 different colleges to finally earn my BA in Communication.
Favorite Drink

Black coffee from Tim Hortons, Nonfat Latte from Starbucks, Hot Tea with milk (Irish parents), wine and IPA and the occasional Jameson.

Favorite Sport

To watch, hockey (Let's go Flyers!) to do, yoga and kayaking

Do you have a partner?

Yes, we have been married for many years.

Bad Habits?

So many! Procrastination, staying up too late, eating too much chocolate , curling up with a book instead of going to the gym... Favorite Movie

Midnight in Paris because I'm completely obsessed with American expats in 1920s Paris. I'm a total Gil.

Book that changed your life.

So hard to narrow this down. I was very affected by Diary of Anne Frank and Go Ask Alice when I was young. I was rocked by Night by Elie Wiesel, I love Great Gatsy. All the President's Men was a powerful lesson about the impact brave writers can have. More recently When by Daniel Pink and The War of Art by Steven Pressman. I love a good mystery, especially one with a strong female protagonist.

I’m tagging @thestickeredsuitcase @dethbeforedisco and @kendalls.reads

I have so many deadlines and obligations, but I felt the need for a comfort read, so I pulled this out of @kristenbraunsch ‘s collection. What book or series do you turn to when you’ve got the sads or the overwhelms? .

When the choice is between dining outside or in a dark bar, it’s always gotta be the dark bar.

I asked Instagram to pick an August read from my TBR and you really came through — Thanks to everyone who voted! Here’s the tally:

Lying Game 11
Sadie 10
Only Woman in the Room 3
Contagion 2
This will be my undoing 1

Since The Lying Game and Sadie were so close to a tie, I’ll try to read them both. With any luck I’ll read them all, but I’ve got quite a few reading commitments this month. . .

Hopping onto this prompt from @theunreadshelf as part of my #projectTBR2019 August is going to be a pretty ARC-heavy month, plus I have have some hot reads due from Libby, but surely I can cross at least one book off my heavily laden unread shelves.
So please vote on which of these five books I should read this month. Any favorites or must-reads?
