Perimenopause is so much more than hot flashes!

Brain fog. 3 a.m. wake-ups. Achy joints. A heartbeat you can suddenly feel. Jeans that fit differently even though nothing about your routine changed.🤯

These changes can start years before your last period, and they’re often never connected.

Swipe through to see what’s actually happening, including why fat tends to shift toward the middle during the transition and why the scale doesn’t always show it.

Not every symptom is hormones, which is why I start with labs and a real conversation. Through PEPP.her, you get a comprehensive lab panel and a virtual consult with me to review every result and build your plan.

DM “PEPP” to get started. You DON’T have to figure it out all alone💞

WORLD MENOPAUSE DAY 💗

Women’s health deserves better than “that’s just part of getting older.”

Perimenopause and menopause can bring changes to your sleep, mood, energy, weight, focus, cycle—and yes, the hot flashes too. 🔥 But understanding what’s happening in your body changes the conversation.

We’re big believers in women’s health optimization: better education, comprehensive labs, expert guidance, and options that are personalized to YOU.

This chapter isn’t about just dealing with symptoms. It’s about knowing your body, asking better questions, and having the tools to feel your best through every phase.

That’s exactly why PEPP.HER by SALT exists. 💗

💪🏼 If you’re in your 40s and haven’t started strength training yet, this is your sign.

⬇️ As estrogen drops through perimenopause and menopause, bone density falls fastest around your final period, and muscle mass and strength decline faster too.

The good news: strength training two to three days a week can improve hip and spine bone density and help keep lean muscle. Studies in menopausal women also show gains in strength, metabolic health, and even hot flashes. 🔥

🩷 Start with 2 to 3 sessions a week, hitting all major muscle groups. Then let’s look at what’s happening on the inside.

🧪 A PEPP.her lab panel checks your hormones, thyroid, vitamin D, metabolic health and more!

DM me “LIFT” for details.

I almost didn’t sign up for HYROX. I hadn’t run in YEARS. 😅

Here’s what nobody tells you about race prep: the training is only half of it.

I started with labs, not miles. My PEPP.her labs showed my ferritin was in the low 40s, so I started iron infusions about 6 weeks out (athletes burn through iron faster than most people realize). I also made sure my hormones were optimized. I kept up my testosterone, added progesterone for better sleep, and dialed in my thyroid meds to calm my Hashimoto’s inflammation.

Then the work started. My first long run was 3 miles, and it felt brutal. I added half a mile every single week until I was running 9 miles without stopping. 🏃‍♀️ My other run day was HYROX intervals: sprints mixed with strength work. On top of that, I kept teaching my lift and High Fitness classes.

When injuries tried to slow me down, peptides kept me moving. I used BPC-157 first, then switched to the TB-500 stack. And I learned that you can’t out-train under-fueling. I pulled back on my GLP microdose, hit my protein, and meal prepped every bite of race week. No sugar, no soda (yes, even diet 🙈), more water, more complex carbs.

By race day I felt ENERGIZED and powerful, and I beat my own expectations. 💪

But no single thing got me there. It was showing up on the hard days. Training through injuries. Refusing to let Hashimoto’s become my excuse. Lacing up for the long run when I was exhausted, and meal prepping when skipping it would’ve been so much easier.

Going all in doesn’t mean everything goes perfectly. It means staying intentional, proactive, and consistent, even when life hands you limits. Health stuff, mental stuff, injuries… we all have something. You plan smart, you adjust, and you keep going.

That’s what race day really celebrated. Not just a finish time, but every choice that came before it. 🙌

What big thing are you preparing for right now? Tell me below 👇 and save this for the days you need the reminder.

Did you know your regular habits like your diet and workouts should be altered depending on which phase of the cycle you’re in? 🤯

I had no idea, but it makes sense. An obvious one is to consume more iron when you’re on your period.

A less obvious one is to avoid cold plunges during the late luteal phase as well as the menstrual phase.

Gretchen, babe… we’re not doing this today. 💅😂

Me 10 years ago? Absolutely team oral supplements. Me now? I’ll take the IV, thanks. 💉✨

Listen, oral supplements definitely have their place, but there’s a reason IV hydration has become such a popular part of the wellness conversation. Different routes, different purposes, and what’s right for you depends on your individual needs. 🤍

You can keep trying to make fetch happen, Gretchen. I’ll be over here with my IV. 💁🏼‍♀️😂

Now tell me… are you team oral or team IV? 👀👇🏼

10 minutes. That’s it?

10 minutes to listen to your full health history.
10 minutes to answer your questions.
10 minutes to thoroughly review your labs with you.
10 minutes to figure out why you can’t sleep, why you have no energy, why your hair is falling out, or why you feel like your immune system is constantly struggling.

You cannot find the root cause in 10 minutes.

That’s exactly why we created @pepp.her 🤍

Our nurse practitioners specialize in women’s health—and, more importantly, they specialize in actually listening and caring.

Your appointment is 45 minutes to an hour with a nurse practitioner and health coach who take the time to understand the full picture, review your labs, ask the right questions, and work with you to uncover the why behind how you’re feeling.

And it doesn’t end after one appointment.

We follow your lab trends over time and repeat labs as needed so we can actually see what’s changing—not just check a box and send you on your way.

Your health deserves more than 10 minutes.

Don’t settle for less.
Don’t settle for 10 minutes. 🩷

🤔 Inflammation, joint pain, fatigue, or brain fog in your 40s?
👀 Don’t overlook testosterone!

Testosterone isn’t just about libido ⭐️ It helps women maintain muscle, and muscle plays an important role in metabolism and inflammatory signaling. Less muscle can mean more visceral fat, which can contribute to inflammation.

That’s why hormone health is about so much more than estrogen alone.

Our Pepp.her Hormone Program takes a deeper look at your hormones, labs, symptoms, and overall health to create an individualized plan to help you feel like yourself again. 🤍

Curious where your testosterone levels actually are? Let’s take a look! 👀

“See you in 6 months,” he says.

No answers. Again.

Meanwhile...

you can’t lose weight
you’re up at 3am like clockwork
your hair is all over your shower walls
your anxiety is worse, and new
your body feels inflamed and puffy
you’re working out but not seeing any change
you don’t want to put on a swimsuit
your libido moved out
and you just don’t feel like yourself... despite putting in a lot of effort.

This is where women get completely missed.

Because technically?
Nothing here is alarming enough to diagnose disease.

But functionally?
These numbers are absolutely enough to create a body that feels exhausted, inflamed, hormonally dysregulated, and resistant to change.

Ferritin at 28 tells me your iron reserves are low.
Not low enough for a diagnosis.
But low enough to impact oxygen delivery, thyroid conversion, recovery, metabolism, energy, and hair growth.

A TSH of 3.1 tells me your brain is already asking the thyroid to work harder.

For women over 35, I want to see this much closer to 1-2.

Once it starts climbing, I expect symptoms like fatigue, weight loss resistance, constipation, cold sensitivity, brain fog, and poor recovery.

Vitamin D at 30?
Also “normal.”

But nowhere near optimal for hormone signaling, immune function, insulin sensitivity, inflammation control, mood, or recovery.

And this is the problem with isolated lab interpretation.

Women are told “your labs are fine” while their physiology is very clearly not functioning well.

Because nobody is connecting the pattern.

Your body is not failing you.
But it may absolutely be operating from a state of chronic stress, depletion, under-recovery, and poor adaptation.

That’s the gap.

If you’re over 35, doing “all the right things,” and your body still isn’t responding... there is usually a deeper pattern underneath it.

If you’re ready to stop guessing, get the right labs, and actually have someone put the full picture together, comment LABS.

“You shouldn’t need a peptide to lose weight.”

Maybe.

But we don’t judge someone for wearing glasses because their eyes don’t see perfectly on their own.

We don’t tell someone using an inhaler that they should “just breathe harder.”

We don’t shame someone for taking thyroid medication because their body needs help regulating thyroid hormones.

So why is needing support with weight, metabolism, appetite, or body composition automatically treated like a personal failure?

Your body isn’t a moral test.

Sometimes nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management and consistency are enough. Sometimes they aren’t. And that doesn’t make you lazy, weak, or lacking discipline.

For some people, peptides or other medical interventions can be one piece of a much bigger picture.

Needing support ≠ failing. 🤍

The goal isn’t to find a shortcut around the work. It’s to find the right tools to support your body while you continue doing the work.

✨ And tomorrow 9/30/26 is the last day for our weight-loss promo of $75 off.✨

If you’ve been considering whether this type of support may be appropriate for you, now is a good time to start the conversation.

😂 I promise I’m not annoyed...

Client education is one of my favorite parts of what I do but sometimes I finish a whole explanation and immediately get:

“So… what does that mean?” 🫠

No judgment. I know that a lot of what I tell you is a lot to take in. And I have no problems with going over it as many times as you need.🫶🏻🫶🏻💉

Because understanding your protocol matters just as much as the protocol itself.
