THREE YEARS. THREE BIGGEST TEAM AWARDS. ONE INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY. 🌊

Pepperdine University isn't just showing up for Malibu Moves 2026. They're showing up in a BIG way.

With more than 150 team members registered across the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K, Pepperdine is taking home our Biggest Team Award for the third consecutive year!

A huge shoutout to Pepperdine's RISE program for making Malibu Moves part of its curriculum and turning the power of movement into meaningful community participation.

And their presence doesn't stop at the start line.

Stop by the Pepperdine Lounge on race morning for coffee, comfortable seating, shade, and a beautifully welcoming space to gather and recharge.

On Saturday, Pepperdine Center for the Arts is also bringing Art for Everyone to our kids' programming, adding creativity and connection to a weekend all about movement.

And a special thank you to Karen Jackson, whose belief in this partnership has helped bring it to life year after year, one coffee at a time. ☕

This is what it looks like when a university doesn't just support its community. It moves with it.

See you at Zuma Beach, October 24-25!

Thursdays hit a bit more special when we all get to come together for root beer floats by the fountain. Students, faculty, and staff turn out for a sweet time together… a time when we can enjoy being with each other. This week, our amazing @pepperdinerise colleagues served us. Such a beautiful way to celebrate community.

It is a blessing to photograph this event every year.

New student orientation ( NSO) is a special time on the Pepperdine campus.

Excited and nervous parents are bringing excited and nervous students to embark on their four year journey at Pepperdine.

The students in the orange T-shirts (NSO Volunteers) are mostly sophomores and juniors who volunteer their time to make the new student’s first experience at Pepperdine to be memorable and welcoming. They don’t get paid and they come to school a week early to perform this service. I think that is amazing. When the parents park their cars in front of the dorms, the orange clad students converge on the car and help the the new freshman move-in.

Connie was honored to speak to the Malibu Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce about RISE!

Resilience is a very relevant topic for the Malibu and Pacific Palisades communities, and RISE continues to be relevant and resonant for organizations.

Thank you to @malibupacificpalisadeschamber for visiting Pepperdine’s Malibu Campus and participating in this session!

“From the moment I met Alex Baker , alxbak3r , I felt an immediate connection. Her authenticity, compassion, and commitment to serving others made it clear she was someone who inspires those around her.

That’s why I was proud to select Alex Baker of Pepperdine and Fiona Dowdee , @fionaskyyy , of Indivisible Arts , @indivisible_arts , to co-lead Artists for Trauma’s volunteer team at this year’s Rollettes Experience Artists Workshop, @rollettesexperience , where they’ll guide nearly 100 differently abled girls, ages 7-17, through a day centered on friendship, creativity, connectivity, and camaraderie.

This marks the third consecutive year that Artists for Trauma has proudly sponsored the Artists Workshop. We’re honored to continue this partnership, empowering the next generation through art, community, and connection.” - Laura T. Sharpe
