"This character overcomes a lot of obstacles and gets back up no matter what”
・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ I was bullied and picked on, outcasted. I never had any friends. I tried always to fit in. When I was in high school I was starting to fit in and have everything and it came crashing down on me. They just used me, they really weren't good friends. I was in a big depression for the longest time. I locked myself in my room. I shut myself out from the outside world. I was afraid to talk to people for the longest time. It wasn't until 2013 I started going out to events. My brother started helping me. I got a counselor. I started making friends little by little.
February of this year my friend Joey talked me into going to this anime event and from then on I've made so many friends. I've been the happiest I have ever been. I used to be 309 in weight and now I'm down to 258. My goal in all this is to make my way to the top and become a famous professional cosplay model. And I'm going strong at it.

I'm dressed as Ichigo Kurosak from Bleach. This is my first cosplay. The reason why I picked this is because you don't have to be physical fit. You don't have to show off your body. This character overcomes a lot of obstacles and gets back up no matter what. This character has a bunch of variations, eventually it will get to the point where u can show more body. I can lose weight and grow with this character.
I collect plushies from anime. I have a Shadow Heartless plushie. It's from King of Hearts. .

"I'm just a geek and I know it and I like it”
・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ I was always short and everything. I didn't grow until I got out of high school. I was shy in my early years and I found out if you don't stand up no one is going to see you. I've learned through playing sports to stand out. I was 5’5" in my senior year. My football friends used to call me munchkin or mushroom because I was always the small one. There are a lot of nicknames being short, but you laugh it off and make jokes. When you're small and you're on a sports team they always stick you in the front. They always put you on the front line sitting down. You always want to be in the back with the cool kids are but you're always stuck in the front. So when you start getting stuck in the front a lot you kind of get used to it, I guess. Now I'm more comfortable in the front.
I've done everything from the Renaissance Faire to Wasteland, Comic-Con stuff. If you do anything like that you know you pretty much stand out so you have to be somewhat hopeful in what you are and it's become much easier. I don't think you call me special or anything different, I'm just a geek and I know it and I like it.
Today I'm dressed in my Scarecrow outfit from Batman. It's my own little mix on it. I don't like taking someone else's character and copying it. I always like to add a little twist to it. I think it opens up a whole different world. It's kind of a Mad Max meets DC.

I still have my teddy bear to this day. My little Ewok doll. My mom brought it for me when I was in the fifth grade or six grade. I used to stick a little bandanna on his head. When I went to college it had a beer can sitting next to him. I can't get rid of the darn doll because I love the doll. That thing has been everywhere with me. To this day it still sits up on my desk. It brings back memories, happy moments when you're a kid. When things were easier, when you weren't paying bills, you were just busy trying to fit in at school. It was a simpler time for me. I look at the doll and it goes back in time for me.

“You laugh because I'm different but I laugh because you're all the same” ·············· My mom moved us out to Los Angeles when I was about 12 because she wanted us to be around more of our own people. I'm from Camarillo and it is really rural out there, in the high end. I grew up there, being brought up proper and then we moved to Inglewood. I was the white washed kind of not really the hood guy and it was really difficult. .
.
I got chased out of my first school. Then I got put into the rival school so I've also kind of been the different one as far as it goes. But you live it up. The saying that I live by that I read once, you laugh because I'm different but I laugh because you're all the same. I like being different. I like being able to say this is mine. I like saying I am unique. I don't conform to a lot of trends. I find something I like and then I do it rather than having to go out and buy the latest clothes, constantly worrying about being with the in crowd. It influences my writing a lot. I write novels.
.
.
I dress like this just to accentuate the fact that I am different. I don't always tote around the fork and the spoon. This is just what I like. It stands out a little bit but it doesn't stand out to the point where it's obscene.
.
.
I used to have a stuffed animal and his name was Neya. It got me through a really rough patch in my life but I don't have it anymore. It was a cat. She was there when I needed her. She was something that I could cuddle and talk to you when I was having a rough time. It was good to have some buddy there for me. .
