Last night, we set the stage for 80. 🌸

Guests stepped onto the pink carpet and into Stage 8 at CineSpace Studios for an evening that felt like a reunion and a premiere all at once. Old friends found each other, new friends were made, and everyone raised a glass of the night’s signature cocktail, The 80th Bloom.

Then the lights went down. Eight past presidents took us decade by decade through the milestones, the traditions, the music, and the Queens that made this Festival what it is. A few fun announcements and more than a few surprises followed.

If there’s one thing the night made clear, it’s this: Festival magic isn’t something we create. It’s something we become a part of. This Festival belongs to all of us, and it’s only possible because of this community.

Thank you for helping us set the stage. The 80th is just getting started. 💗

@airliegardensweddings is a true staple in the Wilmington community and so many have dreams of getting married under the oak trees overlooking the water.

Katie and Parker chose to have their ceremony in the pergola garden before inviting guests over to a tent and lounge space over under the trees on the Bradley Creek lawn. We loved the mix of light coastal wood tones and soft seating with fluffy hydrangeas in the perfect transitional greens and maroons.

It doesn’t get much more gorgeous than this!

If you are planning to book Airlie Gardens as your wedding venue, keep in mind there are a lot of logistics with managing tents, rentals, catering, and more! Luckily the BRE team is here to help make the process easier so you can focus on selecting your favorite linen pattern and where you want to take your gorgeous portraits.

One of my gut checks as a photographer is “would I hire myself? If I received this gallery of my own wedding day, how would I feel?”

I feel deeply attached to my images because I approach the day with that level of care. I see myself, sitting at a table surrounded by my own parents, cheersing to a toast given by my own friends. I feel satisfied when I look at a photo and think “I wish this was of me.” (Nothing wrong with being driven by a little jealousy lol)

But even our current selves have a hard time seeing what’s special when we’re wrapped up in our own perspective. I’ve stumbled across old photos and had an entirely new appreciation for myself, the seemingly mundane, and the versions of the people in the photo I don’t know.

So I also see myself as the grandchild coming across this photo, seeing how young and happy everyone looks. The big smiles that don’t seem to have changed at all. To immediately feel the warmth of the room I can only imagine myself in.

Even in the busiest seasons, this is what helps me stay grounded in capturing for every version of you that will love these photos.

**My best friend brought to my attention the first transition makes the video seem like AI, I can confirm no AI in the making I'm just a girl using an editing app 😂

Obsessed with these photos in general but very obsessed with how good our candle package looked now that we get to see it through a different lens 📸😉

Peyton was the bestest bride and trusted us to handle the vision. We think the details are stunning and the elevated pillar candles brought something special to the vibe. 🤍

You bet you'll be seeing another post from this gallery! I wish I would've captured the random tornado storm that decided to sweep through right after the ceremony and stopped in just enough time for the great staff at @128south (shout out Ruger!) to fix up the mess and let the party roll!

Let's talk wedding!
