Keep an eye out for a new valve spring upgrade hitting the market for aircooled 911’s.

I’ve been lucky enough to have first hand involvement in the development of this product, and after almost a year am currently and officially in the real world testing phase.

I’m excited to finally give the most prolific hot rodding community outside of the domestic scene a taste of knowhow and tech that’s existed in other markets for years.

I really need to get this port and others digitized… DM me friends with 5 axis porting machines!

I am looking for a new and reliable CNC vendor preferably on the West Coast who can serve me in LS, Aircooled Porsche, Ford FE and SBF, and Watercooled Audi/Volkswagen applications.

This is a new variation of an LS7 port I would typically do for highly efficient NA and Boosted applications. Extremely stable airflow up to 1” lift, and topping out over 400CFM. This is 1/3 sets of heads I’ve done with this port and this new valve job that will be going out into the wild soon. 😄

Testing more sets of springs and learning how to use this new machine correctly. Unbelievable how quickly I can collect information now! This was a set of Aasco valve springs for a max effort NA aircooled 3.0L @tlg_auto is designing.

The final evolution of our S65 VANOS covers is here.

Over the past year, I stopped selling the aluminum covers, pulled all remaining stock, and invested countless hours with multiple 3rd-party engineering firms to understand one thing:

Why do some tabs come loose over time… and how do we eliminate the chance completely?

Their conclusion was clear:

The S65 VANOS ring is hardened steel.
Aluminum is much softer.
When a hard steel surface vibrates against a softer aluminum tab over thousands of cycles, micro-wear can build up, and that can eventually reduce retention.

So we redesigned the covers from the ground up:

• Machined from solid stainless steel
• Internally balanced for high-RPM stability
• Improved alignment features to prevent partial seating
• 40+ metrology checks to guarantee perfect tolerances
• Track-tested, street-tested, heat-cycled

And based on all testing so far:
Once these stainless covers are fully seated… they’re not coming off.

This is the last set of VANOS covers your S65 will ever need.

It’s the little things that make the overall difference! Made some tabs off of the valve cover bolts to give the wiring a place to zip tie.

Now I regret checking… this Porsche 997 GT3 Cup has been now been to two different builders to be prepped for standing mile race duty, then subsequently met various degrees of unsuccess. The FIRST seat I checked had basically .006” of runout. Seriously. How? They’re copper beryllium and were cut on a newen. The guides were replaced.

I’m astonished. There is zero reason why the seats should have been so far out given the circumstances. Oh well, I suppose I get to recut a bunch of highly carcinogenic valve seats. Fun. A whole barrel of it. Add it to the backlog. Thanks.

We made some insane progress this week!! The @americanpowertrain and @tremecperformance TKX swap is just about wrapped up! Once the clutch was lined up, the trans slid right into place. The only modification needed to the floor board is the hole that you’ll need for the shifter. That’s it! Up top, we bolted up the ridiculously beautiful @masterpowerbrakes billet master cylinder that complments their brakes nicely and beside that I fabbed up a mounting bracket for the clutch master. One huge piece to this entire puzzle is this insanely cool transmission crossmember from @umiperformanceinc!! The entire piece is modular and can be positioned in loads of different spots to accommodate a multitude of transmissions!! From manuals to automatics, this G-body crossmember has you covered!
