This is a groove from my new book called “Country Eggs ‘n Jams.” I will be playing this exact thing tonight at @bowerypalace for the @permanentmoves album release show! All the material in “Drumming from A to Z: MORE Stuff You Can Use” is drawn directly from my experiences playing onstage and recording with bands over the years. It’s practical and applicable, but also fun and contemporary. Visit robmitzner.com/shop or @hudsonmusicofficial to pick it up and I’ll even sign for you. #stuffyoucanuse @yamahadrumsofficial @remopercussion @vicfirth @lowboybeaters @hudsonmusicofficial @paistecymbals

TUESDAY APRIL 14th will be a night of Indie Rock here at The Palace!

@permanentmoves is Shane Chapman& Julia Sirna-Frest, an Indie-Electro-Folk-Rock duo from Brooklyn. They started writing music together in 2016 based on found texts and have grown into a unique blend of eclectic orchestrations and soaring, emotional harmonies that the New York Times has called “Sonically Gorgeous.”

Soon they will release their sophomore album, We Both Die First, as a follow-up to the electro-folk, indie dream-pop Chekhovian song cycle - Don’t Forget Us (2024).
In a sharp stylistic turn, the duo harnesses their decade of playing together in a Dolly Parton cover band to produce a country-inspired, lyric-driven concept album.

STAY TUNED FOR INFO ON THE OPENING ACT, Sean Kershaw & the New Jack Ramblers!

Great new album coming out by Permanent Moves soon! It was a pleasure to work on this project. Marrying visuals to music is always a fun challenge. Here's the front and back of the album art along with some concept sketches.

A little late on posting this here, but here's a snapshot of laster year's freelance work. Really enjoyed working on the music and film projects, and everything in between! Message me if you're in need of illustration or graphic design.
