Thanks to everyone that came out to our annual @iconpartyindy Michael Jackson & Prince Party at The Jazz Kitchen. For those that didn’t make it, I always try to channel an MJ/Prince era in my outfit. Last year, I channeled The Jackson 5. This year, it’s the beat it era.

Join us August 8th from 1pm to 5pm @thepitstopindy (across from @thetoypit) for ICON Live: 50+ Years of Hip-Hop Picnic. ICON Live means heavy on the live performances. This is event is ALL AGES! Tickets at www.oldsoulent.com

The last book in my Astra Black trilogy, A CITY DREAMING, drops at the end of the month. Since we did a book launch for the series, we thought it’d be fitting to do a series close-out party. A friend said, considering the series theme of community, we should call it our Interdependence Day celebration. So...

INTERDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
A City Dreaming - A Literary Tableau
Date: July 4th
Time: 2p
Location: The Kheprw Institute’s Alkhemy-Community Wealth Building Center (3802 N. Illinois Street)

It’ll be a quiet, subdued, and definitely not extra book-signing event.

SOOOOOOO proud & in awe of my friends. // Also, it hit me this morning that getting to even be in that room as a musician/songwriter/recording artist, much less nominated, is a manifestation of a younger Lindsay’s most tender and enduring dream. I’m so grateful. Indy (& Indiana) is full of so many incredible artists that I’m honored to count as old and new and future friends and collaborators and the roots I’m growing here with you have deepened me in ways I never knew were possible. We shared so much more than songs in my living room last night. We reflected on the mystery of being vessels, the universal struggle that is the second verse, & dreamed up new collabs. We ate, played, talked theology, politics, art, love, breathed deep. & our flames are fanned as we cross the threshold out of this year. Thank you. ♥️
