Howdy partners! What a year it has been in the land of the Fresh Hop. Today it’s time to announce the Champion of the 2026 Fresh Hop Rodeo.

Well, you’ve seen the image in the post, so no need to keep you waiting: give it for Radiant Beer from Anaheim, California! Their entry, No Palm Trees, made them the Round 2 victor, and now your 2026 Champion!

Congrats to Radiant, and to our runners up: Shrine Brewing and Uprise Brewing.

Here’s a recap of the finalists:

Champion: Radiant Beer in Anaheim, CA
Entry: No Palm Trees
Radiant illuminated the Round 2 base of fresh, wet Sauve & Son Mosaic and Van Horn Farms Citra with glowing rays of Black Star Ranch Simcoe, Van Horn Farms Citra, and Haas Krush.

First Runner Up: Shrine Brewing in SLO, CA
Entry: E.T. Cone Home
Shrine built upon the Round 3 base of fresh, wet Tributary Farms Mosaic and Segal Ranches Tangier with a tessellation of Black Star Simcoe, Roy Farms Chinook, Perrault Farms Krush, and even more Segal Tangier.

Second Runner Up: Uprise Brewing in Spokane, WA
Entry: Nice Bolo
Uprise rose to the Rodeo challenge by upgrading the Round One base of fresh, wet C&C Hop Farms Centennial & Loftus Ranches Simcoe with a blend of Fresh AF Roy Farms Strata, Haas Krush, and Black Star Ranch Simcoe.

Another Hop Harvest Trip in the Books!!✅🧳🌱

Making the pilgrimage to the Yakima Valley every harvest season is an integral part of how we build our hoppy beers, but it’s also one of those trips that reminds us why we love doing this. Getting time with the farmers and growers who are experimenting, perfecting and pushing hops forward is something we never take for granted.

This year, we had the pleasure of being inducted into @yakimachief FWD program, giving us access to experimental hops and hop products to conduct trials and provide feedback to YCH as they continue the process. Having a lovely dinner between the hop bines at one of our favorite farms, @perraultfarms, was an added bonus😉. Exploring the experimental hop fields with Jeff Perrault is always a highlight, and we’re hoping to get our hands on some specific small lots we were super excited about in the next month or so. Keeping those on the DL for now....Thank you to YCH & the Perrault Family for your superior hospitality and company!

We couldn’t be more excited about the 2026 crop year. Our Mosaic and Mosaic Cryo have beautiful intensity, along with our Citra, Krush and Simcoe selections.

In addition to hop harvest, we had the pleasure of making a beer with our friends at @chuckanutbrewery in Burlington, WA! Mari and Will Kemper are legends in the industry and couldn’t be nicer people to boot. We celebrated Will’s birthday with Mari’s delicious, home-cooked curry lunch and chocolate cake. Their crew is filled with incredibly intelligent, kind and curious people, and their Head Brewer, Robert Stein, even joined us for our selection in Yakima. Be on the lookout for—you may be surprised by this—our collaboration West Coast IPA in Washington!

Well folks, there’s our little recap. We have some exciting news about Castroville coming up so stay tuned and Drink Fresh, Burp Hops!

The fresh hop madness continues… A couple weeks ago, we had the honor of taking part in Single Hill’s Fresh Hop Rodeo 2026. Every year, @singlehillbrewing hosts a friendly competition with nine breweries and nine different fresh hop collaborations.

The Rodeo takes place over three rounds, each with three breweries. Together, each crew develops a wet hopped base beer, then heads out on brew day to rustle up the freshest hops from farms around the Yakima Valley. The batch is split into three tanks, and each brewery takes over their own tank, choosing the yeast and dry hop using only hops from the 2026 harvest.

For Round One, we teamed up with @zilkerbeer from Austin and @sunriverbrewing from Bend.

NICE BOLO is our version, starting with the shared wet hop base of fresh Centennial from C&C Hop Farms, Simcoe from Loftus Ranches and HBC 1176 from Perrault Farms. We finished ours with Strata from Roy Farms, Krush from Haas and Simcoe from Black Star Ranch.

We brought just a little bit of the Rodeo back to Spokane with all three versions from Round One. There isn’t much to go around, so come try NICE BOLO alongside Zilker’s FIRST KILN and Sunriver’s BARN BOOGIE while you can.
All three are on tap now, get ’em before they ride off into the sunset.

Straight from the source. 🌿🍺

Eric Bean and a few of the CBC boys are out in Yakima, getting an up-close look at hop harvest and spending some time at Perrault Farms — seeing where some of the hops that eventually make their way into your glass actually begin.

@perraultfarms

Fresh hops, good people, and probably a little bit of beer along the way. 😉🍻

Turns out Eric’s 30 years in brewing haven’t made him any less excited about this stuff.

More from Yakima coming soon. 🌿✈️🍺
