In a former life, I was a fashion design student. That degree remains unfinished but my love of pattern, pink, tulle and chiffon is unwavering. To my delight, I spent my first night in Melbourne at the closing @melbfashionweek show.

I tried to keep my outfit as Australian as possible and sourced from my existing wardrobe with a @goondiwindicotton shirt and @perricutten skirt.

I’m 56. And I don’t need a special occasion to dress beautifully. 💗

I love beautiful clothes. I love putting an outfit together, adding those finishing touches and walking out the door feeling fabulous.

Not because I’m trying to impress anyone.

Not because I’m trying to look younger.

But simply because dressing beautifully brings me joy. 🌸

At 56, I know my style better than ever. I wear what I love, what makes me feel confident and, most importantly, what feels like ME.

Because style isn’t about age. It’s about expressing who you are.

And the only person I’m dressing for is myself. 💕

💛 Some evenings are about so much more than what we wear.

Last night I had the absolute pleasure of attending Fitted for Work’s Love Letter to My Closet event, having been selected as a finalist.

Some of you may remember my letter to my humble strand of pearls. Given to me at just 16, they’ve travelled through life with me. Through celebrations, love, loss and new beginnings. Still treasured, still worn, and still part of my story.

Although I wasn’t the winner, what an extraordinary evening! The winning letter brought us laughter, tears, warmth and joy. A truly deserving winner whose story touched us all. My heartfelt congratulations. ❤️

And what a highlight meeting the wonderful @catrionarowntree. Such infectious energy and warmth.

Of course, there was the question of what to wear!

I chose to re-wear my beautiful yellow Ramona dress by @perricutten. Bright, joyful and perfect for a warm Melbourne evening. And naturally, my pearls came along too! 💛

But the real story was the incredible work of @fittedforwork.

Because when we dress a woman for work, we’re doing so much more than providing an outfit.

We don’t always know her story. What she’s been through, what she’s overcoming, or the courage it’s taken to get here.

But perhaps that outfit, that kindness, that little bit of support, is helping her write the next chapter of her life.

And isn’t that a beautiful thing?

A little black & white moment 🖤🤍

A long-overdue catch-up with a very special friend at one of my favourite Melbourne restaurants, Entrecôte.

The outfit? Glorious wide-leg black trousers from @perricutten , paired with a simple off-the-shoulder top from Seed.

A little styling tip for my fellow rectangle-shaped ladies… an off-the-shoulder neckline draws the eye upwards, while a fitted bodice and flowing trousers create beautiful proportions.

Sometimes the simplest combinations make you feel the most fabulous.

Style isn’t about changing your shape. It’s about knowing how to dress it. 🤍
