BUILD THE MOVEMENT BEFORE THE SHOT. 🎾

Before adding tennis-specific movements, I like to make sure the athlete has a good foundation of general movement skills.

In this progression, we start with lateral shuffles and changes of direction.

Then we introduce the crossover step, working on transitioning between different footwork patterns.

Finally, we add the racket and an open stance swing, bringing those movements into a more tennis-specific situation.

The idea is simple: develop the movement first, then gradually make it more specific to the sport.

God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Wow. Again God has blessed me with a life changing experience that I struggle to put into words. UTC was truly one of the best weeks of my life. I can’t believe it’s already been more than a month since being in Minnesota. It was so inspiring to be surrounded by not only other college athletes but Christ followers all searching for the same thing. I’m beyond proud to call these people my family. You all were the biggest encouragement and best focal point during the week and continue to be. I’m grateful to know and love and suffer with all of you.

God allowed me to fully surrender parts of myself to Him this week that I didn’t know I had a hold on, or didn’t know how to let go of. I am significant, not because of anything I can do, results I produce, or because of what others say of me, but because in Christ I have been given a purpose that transcends my performance; a purpose in playing a role in His unfolding story. In Christ, this is who I am. Apart from Him, I am nothing. What higher calling or greater purpose is there than to spend my life serving and glorifying the one true God and the most loving Father, who chose me and set me apart. There’s so much more I could say, but not enough words to say it. Thank you Jesus for allowing us to find true freedom in you.
