It’s been two months since I left Lakeview for a fourth time and about a week since my status as third-year counselor has ended. Fish Camp changed my life and I still am not sure if I’m ready for it to end. I’ve been so beyond blessed by everyone who’s entered my life through this organization and there are not enough words to describe my thankfulness.
💜Camp Purvis helped break me out of my shell
💚Camp Aldrich taught me that everyone is different and I do belong at Texas A&M
💙Camp Jennings turned me into a leader and gave me friends for life
🩵Camp Palacios gave me another chance and taught me that even grad students can make an impact on freshmen

Camp Palacios… I am still in awe that I was privileged with another shot at Lakeview with you. Being a third year as a grad student was a different experience but one I’ll never forget. Thank you Lauran and Haden for picking me as your third year and giving me this opportunity. Thank you Becky for being an amazing partner who I could rely on for anything. Thank you counselors for accepting me (even if I am “old”) and being people I can count on for years to come. Thank you James for being unlike any namesake I’ve ever had — the most interactive and caring namesake ever. Thank you Palacios freshmen… y’all opened up so quickly and are a ball of joy. The Aggie spirit shines bright in each of you and I can’t wait to see y’all grow in your time in Aggieland! Because of you, I have returned to Fish Camp over and over again. Y’all have made all the blood, sweat, and tears worth it. Thank you for memories that will last a lifetime!🩵
