You can have the full outfit on and a smile on your face and still have a soul in disarray.

So many of us are carrying anxiety right under the surface. We change our clothes three times. We can't fall asleep without scrolling ourselves to death. We need white noise, melatonin, the TV on, anything to calm what's going on in here.

But there's a remedy for restlessness, and it isn't more activity. It's learning to be still. God is moving in you. It's just deep and it's gentle, and you won't feel something deep and gentle until you get quiet.

Evangel’s tradition of Spiritual Emphasis Week took place Wednesday through Friday.

Junior Jade Smith said, “Spiritual Emphasis Week is my favorite week at Evangel, but specifically the Thursday night service and Hunger and Thirst. It is so inspiring to me to see my peers chase after Jesus together. It was so evident that the Spirit of the Lord was there and heavy. I truly believe we will continue to see the things we prayed for Thursday night happen throughout the rest of the school year.”

Project Rescue executive director Jennifer Barrett talked about surrendering your story, encouraging students to reflect on the question, “What story is your life telling?”

Traveling evangelist Peter Reeves preached on a remedy for restlessness and returning to the presence of God.

Next semester, Evangel will host the Forged Conference.
