This one was a request from @peterkalksma for an exercise to get stronger for archery. Now with archery, just like any sport, the best way to get improve at the movement patterns involved is to just accumulate more volume of practice with intention and focus on developing your technique. Most of the time “sport-specific” training in the gym that mimics the sport is not that effective and your time is better spent on general fitness. But archery is one of the exceptions where there mimic exercises that can give you an edge, because it’s not a sport that requires quick, explosive movements. My favorite is the #steelmacearcher This exercise is in my regular rotation, it’s one of my favorites, and a great example of why the #steelmace is the best tool for training shoulders 🙂 #archery #recurvebow #beararchery #mace #macebell #ironliongym #strengthtraining #workout #gym #fitness #unconventionaltraining #exercise #strengthforarchery
