#FurCommunity News | London’s CuppaPug @cuppapug is planning to open in Dubai in early 2027, bringing a space to meet pugs, learn their stories and potentially give a rescue pug a forever home.

CuppaPug was founded by partners Aaron Carty and Matthew “Matt” Pieterse, who started the London Caié in 2022.

Their idea was to create a welcoming pug playground where people could enjoy a coffee, meet the dogs and learn about responsible pug ownership, while supporting rescue and rehoming.

At the heart of their story is Gizmo, a rescue pug whom they credit with inspiring it all.

Here’s what’s planned:
☕ A pug café with pug-themed drinks and cakes
🐶 Pug-exclusive daycare
🏡 A rescue hub supporting adoption and rehoming

CuppaPug says rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming pugs is at the heart of what they do. For our community, the opportunity to help more rescued dogs find loving homes is the most exciting part. 💕

Tag a pug lover who needs to hear this! 🐶🐾❤️

#FurCommunity | News: Beach Closures in the Northern Emirates

Planning a beach day with your dog? Following an offshore tanker oil spill, closures announced on 23–24 October include:

📍 Umm Al Quwain: All beaches and coastal areas
📍 Sharjah: Al Hamriyah Beach
📍 Ras Al Khaimah: All beaches until further notice

Clean-up operations and environmental assessments are underway. Please follow official reopening announcements before heading out.

Why this matters for our furries?
Oil can stick to paws and coats and may be swallowed when dogs lick themselves. Contact and ingestion can cause harm. A beach looking clean is not an official safety clearance. (petpoisonhelpline.com)

For anyone planning swimming, kayaking or Snorkel Furr Fun adventures in the affected areas, wait for official clearance before making a splash.

Please keep your dogs away from closed beaches and affected water. Share this with a fellow pet parent.

📰 #FurNews | Off-leash dogs spark debate in Dubai 🐾

Residents on Reddit @reddit raised concerns about dogs roaming off-leash in public spaces.

💬 Opinions are divided between speaking politely to owners and reporting concerns to the authorities.

As a dog community, we have a responsibility to respect everyone (people and dogs) sharing these spaces.

Reminder to Fur Community:
🐕 Keep dogs leashed where required and follow each venue’s rules.
🤝 Ask before allowing your dog to approach people or other dogs.
🌳 Choose safe, permitted spaces for off-leash freedom.
📣 Practise recall consistently but remember, even good recall is never a guarantee.

Our dogs deserve room to explore, and others deserve to feel safe. Freedom comes with responsibility. 🐾
