feeling incredibly grateful for black & white edits🖤🤍🎬 because they remind us to cherish color🫶🏼

there’s something so special about stripping a photograph down. when color no longer has the opportunity to guide your eye, you begin to see an image differently.

you become more aware of things like composition, light, shadows and emotion. black & white asks a photograph to stand on its own without color telling you where to look or how to feel. Removing something so beautiful like color makes you appreciate it even more.🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙

Photographers📸 Are you scared to offer strangers a photoshoot?😳

I definitely was!! I was TERRIFIED… even when our skill level was something to be proud of. I still felt queasy asking someone to model for us.

Why? 🤔

I had a fear of rejection!! And it made total sense… no one wants to get rejected or be told no. Especially when you are doing something vulnerable like stepping outside your comfort zone.

That fear of rejection taught me something. Not that I should run away from moments where I could be rejected but rather a reminder that growth is on the other side of taking that risk. That fear showed me where I needed to fully lean in. DO WHAT SCARES YOU. Just freaking going for it.

Not everyone will say yes! The ones that do will become so special to you. Friends you meet in the wild who are supportive of your growth and trust your vision and appreciate your value. But guess what? Even the ones that say no are going to teach you something.

Maybe the lesson is to improve your pitch. To increase your confidence when you approach. To communicate their contribution and the value of the exchange. LET THE LESSON HAPPEN.

And always stay a student. KEEP LEARNING.

I’ll tell you our secret sauce: we built our business so rapidly because we werent asking couples to be fake. Instead we focused our energy on creating a space where clients felt safe to express themselves. Almost as if we are all just hanging out and they can forget the camera is even there.

A lot of times photographers ask for the fake laugh because it feels easy and effortless but think about it from the clients perspective.

If someone asks you to laugh when nothing is funny, you’re suddenly aware of the camera again. You’re no longer present and instead you are performing.

Instead of asking our couples to be something they’re not, we focus on creating a space where they can play and have fun.

We invite them into silly bite size ideas or direction. We give them prompts that spark real reactions, genuine connection, and authentic joy.

people rarely remember exactly what you said during their session but they will always remember how you made them feel.

By leaning into these playful prompts and inviting our couples to trust their imagination, we have continued to build our abundance through mostly word of mouth referrals.

Why?🧚✨

The photos matter but the energy you foster during the session with clients matters even more.

just wrapped up my first summer in door 2 door sales, these past 4 months have been the most challenging summer i’ve ever had. This job has flipped my life completely around for the better !
