Getting off the horse is only half the battle. What happens when your feet hit the ground matters just as much.

When a goat tier hits the ground at full speed, they have to absorb force, stabilize, and immediately redirect that force into acceleration toward the goat.

That starts with being able to decelerate under control.

Depth Drops
Teach the athlete to absorb force and find a stable landing position.

Depth Drops + Jumps
Add a dynamic movement component and challenge the athlete to transition from landing → producing force.

The goal is to develop the ability to:
• Control the landing
• Maintain trunk and pelvic stability
• Keep an athletic position upon ground contact
• Quickly transition from absorbing force → producing force
• Accelerate efficiently toward the goat

A more stable landing gives you a better position to apply force into the ground and get moving again.

Better stability on the get-off → better position to accelerate.
