fashionably late acro recap🤭

dear acro,
it was such a bittersweet feeling getting to know and love you but having to say goodbye after a year and a half of you. if you told me in the beginning of 2024 that i would quit the sport i played my entire life to try something completely new, i would never have believed you. especially if you told me i would be have people standing on me, balancing on me, or if i was throwing them? absolutely no way.
let me tell you that my first time watching an acro practice was insane - watching the skill and strength of the girls, i immediately knew i wanted to be a part of it. and so i did.
these past three semesters being on this team have been the most rewarding and challenging months, but i would never change it for anything else. the frustration when a skill doesn’t hit but finally having everything click and work out perfectly is probably one of the most rewarding things that i have experienced as an athlete. there truly is nothing like this sport and the strength, control, and perseverance in these young women and i am so glad to have been a part of that. this team and program have brought me so many memories, friends, and family, and i am forever grateful to these girls and the coaching staff we have had over the past two years. it was great being a part of school history with this team and not only trying something new, but being able to contribute so much as well. thank you to this little acro family for helping me and so many others find love for a sport again :)
ps: this sport has put my body through so much but nerve damage and some dislocated ribs still would never change my mind about how much i love this sport and the short amount of time i had with it 🥹
