If you’d like to sew freehand on your machine like this, creating lovely fluid stitches with a good even tension, you might like to join me for an online Christmas card making class via Zoom! 🎄

A BIG thank you to everyone who has already expressed an interest. If you’d like to join sewists from all over the 🌍 for a festive sew-along with my guidance and support, please comment below with the day of the week that works best for you. The class will be held at 6pm.

I’m really excited about this! We’ll all be sewing along together, just as before, but this time I’m tweaking the format to make it accessible to ALL abilities, so whether you’re new to freehand embroidery or already have some experience, you can join in. 💝

I can’t wait to sew with you!

@pfaffuk Expression 715 - I’ve removed the embroidery foot to give you better visibility however I’d always recommend attaching one - this machine has THREE embroidery foot options!

As you draw with thread on your sewing machine each line is stitched freehand giving every robin its own unique character. 💞

I’d love for us to come together for a big Christmas card making sew along in November, where we’ll create a little collection of cards together via Zoom, sharing the joy of stitching with like-minded people from all over the world. ✨

These online get togethers are such fun, with a wonderfully supportive atmosphere. From the messages I’ve received so far, I already have a little group ready to join in! 💞

Let me know in the comments below if you’d like to be part of it too, and I’ll set a date✨

It’s daunting staring at a blank piece of fabric or a card blank and wondering where to start.

My advice is to take it slowly.

Just start by sewing! Move your hands left and right, breaking the habit of wanting to sew ‘straight’.

It’s all about finding the right balance between the speed of your hand movements and the speed of your machine. Once you’ve found that comfortable rhythm and achieved the stitch length you’re happy with, move on to appliqué pieces of fabric and, gradually, your pictures will start to take shape.
