Our Youth Career Connections (YCC) program hosted its 2nd Annual Spring Into Your Future: Reverse Career Fair 🎉

In partnership with PGCPS Department of Special Education, students from Wise, Suitland, Potomac, and Northwestern High Schools had employers come directly to them—flipping the traditional career fair experience!

Students shared their skills, connected with professionals, and received professional headshots for resumes and LinkedIn 💼

We thank our employers and PGCPS, your commitment to creating pathways for our young adults does not go unnoticed.

Wildcat Way is officially open 💚🌿
On Friday the space came alive exactly how we imagined—through the joy, curiosity, and energy of our students.
We made wildflower seed bombs
We filled pages in our outdoor journals
We ran, explored, and discovered every corner
And of course—pizza and popsicles to top it all off 🍕🍧

This space was built for moments like these—hands in the dirt, learning in motion, and a community coming together to create something lasting.

Wildcat Way is more than a classroom—it’s a place to grow, reflect, and belong. 🌎💛

¡Wildcat Way está oficialmente abierto!

Last Monday, the CEii team had the opportunity to be part of an important conversation on Race and Place: School Desegregation in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Grounded in Dr. Deirdre Daugherty’s work, the discussion reflected on the lived experiences of communities from 1945–1973—and how those lessons continue to shape education today.

Grateful to hear from Dr. Shawn Joseph, Dr. Alvin Thornton, and Dr. Kimberly Griffin as they connected history to ongoing conversations around equity and policy.

Always learning, reflecting, and growing. 📚✨

Students at Glenarden Woods Elementary School rolled up their sleeves to celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees and shrubs across their campus.

In partnership with the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment and the Prince George’s County Beautification Committee, the young scholars planted 31 trees—helping create a greener, healthier space for their school and community.

Organizers say the hands-on event gave students a chance to learn just how important trees are in our everyday lives, from improving air quality to supporting the environment for future generations.
