⠀⠀
I feel impossibly far from you, as if the body I once touched and held has been translated into abstraction—no longer flesh, but thought. I wonder whether it is possible to love, or to long for someone, this way: indefinitely, without weight, without proof.

Perhaps the speed of information has thinned desire, lightened love, stripped longing of its texture and density. Perhaps intimacy loses its gravity when it travels too fast. And yet, I still miss you.

In missing you from such a distance, I find myself missing my homeland as well—as if longing, once displaced, inevitably seeks another origin.
