𝐹𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑎 reflects on the aftermath of a real-world nightmare. You don’t expect your family to disappear… and yet, it happens. You expect empathy. Solace. Understanding… and yet, the people around you blame the victim. You’re left with no answers and a rage slowly brewing inside you. But somewhere along the way, you find people who have been there. People who have walked this path before you. People who offer you the chance to, however imperfectly, take matters into your own hands. 𝐹𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑎 is a story about loss, rage, resilience, and the people we find along the way. Two more show, September 26th 2 pm and 7:30 pm. Tickets available at Mile Zero website or link in bio 📷: @armandbladon ✨ Thanks to our funders: @canada.council @yegarts and supporters @milezerodance @goodwomendance #YegArts #YEGDance #ContemporaryDance #danceartist #premier #YEGEvents #BuscandoNosEncontramos

This September, 𝐹𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑎 arrives at Mile Zero Dance. This dance piece explores loss, resilience, and the vicious cycle of hope and pain. It reflects on the harm caused by organized crime in Mexico and the ways people respond, resist, and survive in its wake every day. 𝐹𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑎 serves as a vehicle to bring forward and honour the tireless work of countless civil society groups who search for their loved ones in mass graves, clandestine burial sites, and abandoned extermination houses. Through movement, the piece bears witness to their grief, resistance, and relentless pursuit of truth. September 25th and 26th. Tickets available at Mile Zero Dance website or link in bio. Mile Zero Dance’s first ZERO Lab of the season is Deviani Andrea’s FRACTURA. One of the featured artists in FRACTURA is Phany Peña! Phany, an Edmonton-based artist, immigrant, and member of the BIPOC community, is determined to immerse herself in her dancing skills and artistic creation. She has practiced several dance techniques, prominent among them are: Polynesian dance, classical ballet, and a few contemporary styles. She understands art as a communication channel that artists use to express themselves, make a point, or encourage the audience to wonder about a topic. Having said this, she is committed to using her artistic knowledge and talents to tell stories and draw attention to topics that are important to her in today's context. ZERO Labs are an opportunity for artists to put the finishing touches on their work, with a two week production residency and premiere performances. 🎟️ Get your tickets to FRACTURA September 25 | 7:30 PM + Artist Talkback September 26 | 7:30 PM September 26 | 2 PM Matinee *ages 8 and under are free to attend the afternoon show! $25/$20 MZD Members $25/$20 MZD Members $50 ZERO Lab pass *all access pass to attend ZERO Lab productions throughout the 2026-27 Season Tickets at MILEZERODANCE.COM
