That's the idea behind Phart Clothes (People Have A Right To Clothes), a nonprofit thrift concept helping rescue clothing from the waste stream and give it a second chance. They've already diverted tons of textiles from landfills while helping thousands of garments find new homes through their online thrift store at phartclothes.com.

You can find them in the Local space at Main & Sixth through June 26, so stop by and see what they're all about!

This downtown Lafayette, IN clothing shop has a name you won’t forget and a mission worth supporting. 👀♻️

I stopped by @phartclothes in downtown Lafayette and yes, the name definitely makes you look twice! But the mission behind it is what really matters.

PHART stands for People Have A Right To Clothes and this Indiana-based nonprofit is working to make clothing more affordable, more accessible and less wasteful.

PHART Clothes has already helped rehome over 4,000 pounds of clothing and textiles that may have otherwise ended up in a landfill or been shipped overseas. Their goal is to give clothing a second life while keeping prices affordable.

And their prices are intentionally capped because the idea is simple: clothes are a right, clothes should be affordable and good clothing shouldn’t be thrown away.

The owner is from West Lafayette and has dreams of keeping this going after their current temporary space ends. They’d love to stay downtown, on campus, or somewhere in Lafayette/West Lafayette where the community can continue to access and support it.

Go check them out, tell a friend and support a local mission giving clothing a second chance. ♻️👕
