It was an intimate garden affair for the very sweet Sarah and Ian’s “I do’s “ @uclabotanical . My favorite personal custom detail was the couples cat making a special appearance on their cupcakes. 🐾

Feel your shoulders drop, jaw unclench, and your mind settle. Your breath is one of the fastest ways to reset your body.

Pull-Up Bar Fun in class!
Full Core + Upper Body 🔥
We had a blast learning pull-up bar variations using straps today. These moves light up your lats, arms, and coreplus they build serious control.

1) Knee Tucks (Hanging Knee Raises)

How to do it:
• Grip the bar (or straps) and hang tall: shoulders pulled slightly down and back.
• Keep legs together.
• Exhale and drive knees up toward your chest.
• Pause for a split second, then lower slow (don’t swing).

Works:
Lower abs, hip flexors, lats (stabilizing), grip, shoulders.

⸻

2) Leg Raises (Straight-Leg Raises)

How to do it:
• Start in a dead hang with ribs down (don’t over-arch).
• Keep legs straight and squeeze thighs together.
• Lift legs until they’re parallel (or higher if controlled).
• Lower slow, the negative is where you get stronger.

Works:
Abs (upper + lower), hip flexors, deep core (stability), lats/grip.

⸻

3) Toes to Bar

How to do it:
• Hang tall and “pack” your shoulders (avoid shrugging).
• Engage core first, then raise straight legs up until toes touch the bar.
• Control the descent — no crashing down.
• Scale it: toes to bar → toes to straps → knees to chest.

Works:
Entire core, hip flexors, lats (strong stabilization), forearms/grip.

Happy Birthday to @rashad.el_amin 🎉
Our Kickboxing coach, our therapist, our friend. He listens to us, pushes us, and helps us get stronger mentally and physically. He truly cares, shows up for everyone, and is an all around amazing human. We’re so grateful for you, Rashad. Cheers to another year of greatness!

Thank you Karla for the yummy 🎂 cake!
