One is the original, and one is a print. Can you tell the difference? Big props to my photographer and my printer for dialing it in to get my prints just as perfect as the originals!

SOLD! Stop by this weekend for viewing if you'd like to take a look before she heads off to her new home! "Make it a Double" has only been on the wall for a week, and we are incredibly proud to be boasting our largest piece and quickest sale in the 5 years since we've been open. Mic drop.

"Make it a Double" is a collaboration piece photographed, printed and hand stretched by by photographer Phil Mosby and then hand painted by Nicole Stirling. It was debuted at Reno Tahoe International Art Show in September 2025, but came back to Tahoe after the show and had been hanging out at Nicole's studio. After a few months of planning and rearranging we got a wild hair and transported her down to Chickadee so she could be seen and enjoyed by more viewers.

"Make it a Double" is a true photograph of a double rainbow over Lake Tahoe taken from just outside Tahoe City, CA. The Tahoe City marina is the big marina you see at the far right of the panoramic, and the sunlit point on the left is Dollar Point, with the south shore directly across the lake. The mandala is hand painted in acrylic paint, and is painted directly on the canvas.
Measures: 7.5 x 3 feet.

I love that so many of you thought I was actually at a real artist residency. Someday.
For now though I'm just out in Loyalton working on some big ass art for High Sierra Musis Festival again this summer. I've started calling it my artist residency since it's away from my studio and I'm making art. Get it? The property is fondly named Puckridge Farms. Thus, my residency at Puckridge Farms. 🚜 Glad you all think I'm that amazing though.

It's solar eclipse day! Here on the West coast in California we should start to see the partial eclipse begin at 10:15am and reach its maximum at around 11:13am. We will not see the full eclipse here since the path of totality is farther south and east of us, but a partial eclipse is still pretty cool. Get out your welding masks or your eclipse viewing glasses for eye safety. Don't stare directly at the sun - your eyeballs won't like that.

Have fun!

1 year ago today we re-opened the doors of Tahoe Trunk Show as new owners on a new and exciting adventure. What an honor it has been to carry on the legacy of this store that hit its 10yr mark in May of this year. That’s right.. Trunk Show has been in business for 10 𝒀𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑺 𝑺𝑻𝑹𝑶𝑵𝑮!! So cool.

As some know, running and operating a business in a tourism economy is hard work, but the reward is so worth it. The local community, our friends, neighbors, visitors, followers… we are here because of YOU! And, if we could make it through Snowmaggedon in our first few months of business ownership, I believe we can do anything.

The biggest joy, really, comes from cultivating and nurturing relationships with some of the areas most talented artists. Many of which have 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 or have 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 great friends. What an honor to be a cheerleader for you all!!

Thank you for your constant love and support. Our hearts shine bright in gratitude for each individual that crosses our path. ✨🙏🏼🤍
