Over the last week we had all hands on deck to complete the framing of this 60" x 80" project by Louie Villanueva-Eyre. Louie brought us this project as part of his MFA Thesis and we worked with him to photograph his 4" tall bronze sculpture and print and frame it at this overwhelming scale. The project came together beautifully!

Check it out at the Nickle Gallery at the University of Calgary in August as part of Louie's MFA Thesis show!

Louie isn't on social media but show some love to he and his wife's incredible business, @neatfilmlab

Introducing PHILIP KANWISCHER: a multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between wild encounter and careful making.

This Saturday, join us for a Meet & Greet with Kanwischer from 1–4 PM.

Through photography, hand-drawn forms, custom frames, Kanwischer explores the relationship between humans and wildlife. Rooted in years of encounters with animals in remote landscapes, his work considers what exists between observer and observed, and how moments of mutual awareness can shift the way we understand the natural world.

Look, it’s been a red hot minute, hasn’t it!? But I’m finally back from an incredible artist residency in THE ARCTIC. Well, I’ve been back for over a week but I enjoyed being off socials so much…why are we all here again? Oh yes, to look at cool pictures like these. Here’s the salient points:

1. The Arctic is definitely melting. Scientists are saying it, we saw it. We should all be doing stuff about it.
2. Polar bear evacuations are a thing.
3. Walrus sounds should be the soundtrack for Trump every time he appears in public
4. I’ve been to 82nd parallel north - whatever
5. 100 artists and scientists on a boat, near glaciers, urgently working together? Magic and madness.

Here’s some pics where you can see ice, ice melting, waterfalls of melted ice pouring into the ocean, retreating glaciers marked, a ship-load of artists smacking together some climate crisis with black humour and partially naked partial strangers, collaborating with me on an upcoming absurdist series, and a bear.

Huge thanks to the creatives featured in these shots and collaborators on the project:

- Follow them all as they are excellent humans and wonderful artists! -
